Freelance Illustrator|Portrait Artist The weird little thing on the bottom of your shoe

I've been really into traditional art lately. Especially acrylic paint. I think with all this AI nonsense and the constant accusations of something being or not being AI has made me kind of take a step back from digital art.

I'll always love digital art, and of course I'll keep creating with a digital medium, but it is nice to unplug and just sit with myself while I paint.

I miss blogging. I've been longing for the early days of the internet. Blogs, livejournal, websites with themes, just finding a random person documenting their hobbies and life. The creativity. I went to Atlanta, GA for 2 weeks. I had a wonderful, and stressful, time. I started off with going to DreamHack Atlanta, which was....an interesting experience. Then I had a few days to look around, so I hit up the botanical garden and ate a giant milkshake. (shared with the wife, of course.)

I transitioned to vending at MomoCon. That went way better than DreamHack. It stormed a lot, so setting up and tearing down was a nightmare. I like MomoCon's vibe, and met plenty of wonderful people. Our neighbor even gave us boba tea! And a little clown hat for free.

Of course in-between I had to check up on the island! My Miis were in shambles: fighting, becoming enemies, not wanting to make amends. Their world was falling apart before my eyes. Maybe the overuse of "Gandalf big naturals" is causing tension.

Annnyyywaayy--thanks for reading my little ramble! It felt good to just document my time away. I might do this more often!

I feel like I’m good at drawing, but I’m not creative. Does anyone else relate to this? Like I see the outfits and concepts that other artists come up with and it’s just not something my brain would ever produce. 😭😔

Finally coming back to this! Here are the flats! I love flats, but I'm a sucker for rendering. Hope to finish this before DreamHack.

Reblogged

I hope every single person who puts nice comments in tags under reblogged art knows that you you guys are the backbone of society. Being an artist online sucks these days, but here on tumblr I still get compliments under artworks that I made years ago. I hope you know every WOW and heart emoji and heartfelt compliment and funny comment you left in the tags is part of the reason I kept drawing all these years, in spite of everything that was going on.

I've been screenshotting the nice tags I get for years, and at this point it would be literal thousands of lines if I still had my old files. I love u tumblr users <333333333

This godawful recent update made me think about this post again. I still screenshot and collect all the kind comments and tags I get under my art posts on here. Some of these I got recently under art that is YEARS old. This literally doesn't happen on any other social media. The way tumblr note system works (worked) is THE reason me and my friends are on here instead on twitter or whatever else tumblr seems to desperately want to become.

Why would you fuck up THE thing that differentiates you from others? That makes your platform fun to use?

Man :(((

I haven't drawn in so long, I know! I've been super depressed about the state of, you know, THE WORLD. AI and our country being completely torn apart kind of dose a number on inspiration. However, I have been working hard on my dolls. I decided to share some on this account so you can see what I've been up to. Some are of my OCs (top and second row), the others are either for fun or from TGCF. I hope you enjoy them!
