I went to my first pride event!
For those who may not have seen it or haven’t been around, last year I talked about how I was still pretty “in the closet” when it came to being outwardly LGBTQ+ (in public/irl) despite being in a safe environment. It’s mostly because I thought that if I hid myself enough then I could go back to “normal” and even to this day I struggle with accepting myself
My husband went with me and he was really excitedly pointing out the flags that are the labels I fall under, and he got me to pick them up and carry them around! It was really the first time I’ve been OUT there and he was a huge support in that today (and in my life in general)
For the record I identify as trans-androgynous (I’ve medically transitioned with top surgery and a hysterectomy), I fall under the acearo spectrum (I love fantasizing but irl stuff makes me too nervous to engage with it despite wanting it), and gay (mlm)! Honestly I’m probably bisexual but that’s a conversation for another day lmao
Everyone was super nice and I was happy that I went, and saw the parade, I think it was a good first experience even if it was only for like an hour (I get overwhelmed quickly because I’m autistic and there was a LOT going on lol)
Anyway if you read this far I love you and you are amazing, thank you for being part of my life 🩵
