St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City, Rome. The Dome designed by Michelangelo. Bernini’s Baldachin (Baldacchino), the massive, gilded bronze canopy standing over the Papal Altar. Michelangelo's Pietà. The High Renaissance sculpture depicts the Virgin Mary cradling the body of Christ. One the greatest sculptures ever created.
