something i've been playing around with and think is personally interesting is the idea that blue is not actually a poet themself, or at least didn't get their degree writing elegiac poetry, but that their degree is more in line with an english studies doctorate where one studies literary history, analysis, critique, etc., with a very hyper-specific focus. i understand the instinct to make them a creative, (and there is creativity required in any truly good analysis) but i also think that poetry writing is something that requires a degree of releasing of inhibitions and a very specific type of vulnerability that i can see them appreciating in others but struggling to express themself. like, i think they admire artists very very much, but i don't necessarily think they are one
#that's not to say they CAN'T be an artist ofc but i think as intelligent and well-spoken as they are poetry is something they struggle to#actually create y'know. they're an art appreciator but not a creator#idk still working on my blime fic and i just think it's a fun avenue to take with blue#any degree in poetry would probably require writing it to some extent but i think those were the portions of the doctorate they struggled#with the most
