the best fanfiction you've ever read was written by a woman in her 40s before she made dinner for her kids. it was written by a teenager after school when they should've been studying for a history test. and a barista came up with the idea while they cleaned the espresso machine and busser fact-checked it on their break and the post-doc edited between writing grant proposals and the nurse apologized for typos in the notes after a long shift and behind every drabble and one-shot and multi-chapter fic there is a person with a wonderful and interesting and chaotic life and it is such a privilege that we get to be a part of it because they decided to do this thing we all share, for fun.

mechs fans, tma fans, the next round of battle of the johns will be pitting Jonny d'Ville and Jonathan Sims the Jarchavist against each other. (Jonny "names all his characters after himself" Sims is also in the contest but he's on the opposite side of the tournament board so he'll only face one of them in the final if both make it that far)

Obsessed with how Jonah is in love with Jon.

Not in a romantic way, not even in a remotely normal way. He's in love with him the way a creator is in love with his masterpiece. He so carefully and lovingly shaped him, pushed him to his boundaries, built him into the key to achieve his vision. And he's fascinated by how perfect Jon turned out to be. He's obsessed with him. He needed him to rule the world beside him. Jon is the only one Jonah wouldn't have tried to step over or get rid off, he wants him there.

Jon is precious and perfect and he wants to put him in a glass box and just stare at him for eternity where there's only the two of them in a world of suffering.

when I talk about jonelias, this is what I mean. elias (jonah) loves the creature he's made of jon. he loves how he's made a tapestry of jon's suffering into an apotheosis jon cannot escape. he loves how jon's remaining humanity makes him bleed (it provides a certain flavor, Helen said...). he loves how much control and power he has over jon to make him afraid and forsaken and alone. he doesn't care about jon, not really, he cares about the thing he's trapped to shape and own.

Welcome to The Magnus Archives World Cup competition!

This event is a hunt 🐺 to find the BEST episode in all of The Magnus Archives, by means of group and 1v1 competitions until one final episode is left standing!

This event began on the Magnus Archives Reddit community (original post), and I've started this blog as a fan of the event and to get more eyes 👁️ on the polls and more TMA fans to contribute to the crowning of this prestigious award. 🙌

The competition has been in progress for the last several months and we are currently in Round 3, with the top 128 episodes from the group stages fighting in 1v1 battles. (View the current bracket)

This Tumblr blog will post concurrently with the original event organizer on Reddit. It will post links to each week's polls (future polls will be held on Google Forms as well as within Reddit itself) and post poll results.
