Shattered Au: First Anniversary Comic/Eclipse Angst
When Eclipse woke up, he could sometimes hear voices in the back of his head. The loudest one wasn't exactly the most kindest. But in the end he found a friend.
Eventually, the voices appeared as Sun and Moon themselves, with Moon being rather civil. The three were actually able to have a conversation. Moon at one point questioned if perhaps either him or Sun could be out sometimes. Even if just for a moment. Eclipse agreed but something unfortunate happened. As it turned out, the merge was incomplete and switching was practically impossible. After that, Sun and Moon were no longer visible to Eclipse. But they weren't gone. While he couldn't hear or see them, he felt they were still there.
Over the next couple of years Eclipse had tried to befriend Freddie, or at the very least be civil coworkers. But no matter what, Freddie either ignored him or yelled at him for any issue that popped up in the Daycare. But he at least had Chica. She somehow knew how to make him smile after a long day. But that didn't stop Eclipse's own guilt. Truly, he wished the body could've been equally shared by all three.
One day, two armor clad people snuck into the Daycare and snatched Eclipse away. And soon he was brought in front of a tall, armor clad woman.
...Eclipse wasn't the same after he was kicked out of the ship. What was a few weeks had only been a couple hours back on Earth. It was almost like his entire time at the ship never happened. And yet he couldn't stop thinking about it. And a part of himself hoped that Saturn would come back. That maybe the harsh goodbye was just a nightmare and she would come up behind him to lead him away to her chambers. She was one of the first people to just know him and...HIM. He wasn't part Sun, part Moon. She only ever knew him as Eclipse.
But as time went on, the more that hope started to fade. And his demeanor shift was quite noticeable. Chica tried her best to comfort him but he still always looked so tired. As for Freddie, she would exclaim how more complaints were being reported on about the Daycare. Maybe...maybe they were all right.
After meeting with the CEO, Eclipse was granted permission to be split back into Sun and Moon. With the caveat that Sun and Moon each had their own bodies and their own autonomy. While Cassie wasn't thrilled, she in the end helped with the split. Right before splitting, certain thoughts spiraled in Eclipse's mind. He was a replacement. He was the reason Sun and Moon were gone. He was NOTHING. But once the split was done, those thoughts were gone. After all, NOTHING can't exact have thoughts.
While it's not the exact day, I forgot I would be busy tomorrow lol. Shattered's anniversary is August 22nd.
While not required, I highly recommend hearing this song for the comic. I quite literally played it on repeat for this comic and almost got tempted to change the comic to a song one.
