I just wanted to say I love your angel/demon comics, along with the designs you chose for them! What made you use the "rings of eyes" design for your angel? (If it's already been answered on another post, I apologize, I haven't been able to see them all)
So It's a funny story but originally Sera was going to be full on rings and eyes, kind of a gag on those "biblically accurate angels" memes + giving her a sexy succubus partner.
The problem however was that Sera's "biblically accurate" form, aka her wheels form, was VERY limiting and was hard to make expressive. So I decided to maybe blend the two. People ask me why I decided to make Sera bald but like, it's just because I like bald women. I think it's an attractive look.
(Below was me sort of experimenting with the approach to that design)
Itβs such a weird experience because Iβve seen people get genuinely upset with me for asking them to not make jokes about a character being bald or constantly questioning me about it and insisting she should have hair. Itβs just weird to me that people talk about itβs rude to judge other peopleβs bodies until theyβre bald I guess.
I think we should treat bald women with more respect Β―\_(γ)_/Β―
I've been curious on this since Stolas's introduction, but is that a broken cherub halo behind his head? Would it be a spoiler to assume that he's a fallen angel?
All Goetias are fallen angels, but they're given "Lucifer's blessing". You can identify regular fallen angels by their black and broken halos
But Goetia halos are purple because they were "blessed" by Lucifer. These fallen angels aided Lucifer in the Heaven Civil war and are considered his most trusted allies. That's why Stolas casually calls Lucifer "brother" instead of "king" or "father"
So not really a spoiler, it's a very good and correct observation!

Back when Sera had loads of housemates (long before Sera), was there any she was particularly strict towards, and if so, what is her relationship like with them since they moved out?
I would say her early relationship with Domino was the second messiest and chaotic. Most archangels are pretty obedient to high ranking angels, but Domino was very argumentative and often challenging towards God and their belief system (which Sera did NOT like lol), and it only got worse post war. Domino was also poor at regulating his emotions and would have full on outbursts and meltdowns, Sera would often kind of... Push him aside. Encourage him to speak to God about his problems instead of helping him herself. I had a few comics that I scrapped where Domino talks about how he can't wait to kill himself so Sera feels bad for yelling at him. But I decided not to do them because people might have interpreted Domino as suicidal in the past, which he wasn't.
Nowadays, Domino and Sera have a very friendly relationship but there is this sort of... unspoken tension between them (I don't like to describe certain dynamics bc some people take it literally but I do see their relationship as sort of mother/son). Domino feels guilty because he was one of the last remaining angels who lived with Sera and he did some pretty terrible things before being banished to Hell and Sera blames herself for Domino's fall and his rejection of God, not fully understanding that she could have been the most perfect angel for Domino, and he still would have fallen.
But as for the rest... Sera didn't really have too much of an issue. the rest of the angels (which were mainly archangels and guardian angels) were very obedient. But I will say, majority of them are dead. So they didn't really "move out"... Except one.
I remember you saying something along the lines of Sera being the easiest/funnest to write because sheβs so honest compared to Powers and Lili. With all the new additions to the cast, do you have a new βfavoriteβ character to write?
Easily Aurora, even if I hate drawing her (also to be clear she's not my favorite character)
Will you ever make art references of other Sin Children like what you did with Beelzebubs Children or is it just a one-time thing?
It's a one time thing, honestly I just did those drawings because those designs were sitting in my head for years and I was going a little insane not getting it out of my system.
Speaking of which, some early concept art of Prince Nightshade, Prince Gladiolus and Princess Magnolia
Some of these were WAY earlier concepts. For example, Nightshade was going to be a lot more feminine presenting and was going to be a fashionista/inventor/business woman type, but his character felt so bloated I decided to expand it to the sisters (and some of the other sins, for example Mammon's daughter is now the "fashionista").
Nothing much for Gladiolus so I always planned for her to be the leader of the Gluttony Kingdom's army, but Princess Magnolia was originally just going to be a princess who sits by the sidelines and just has orgies and parties, before I decided to make her the ruler of the Sloth Kingdom (because canonically Belphegor was sealed away and originally Nightshade ruled over both kingdoms)
She still has a ton of orgies and parties.
I really like the interactions between Prince and Power, so much so that I really want to write a fanfiction about these two. I especially love the comic where the Prince covers the Power with their wings. I wonder if Prince likes Power (not necessarily in a romantic way, but perhaps in a platonic, friendly way), or are they just teasing her?
If you ever make a fanfiction, please link it to me, i'd love to read it!
I do want their relationship to be sort of ambiguous (because it leads to fun audience interpretations) but I do know Prince's exact feelings towards Powers, and vice versa
Just a little thing, but I honestly love how absolutely unlikable Aurora is right now, I'm assuming she's probably going to get more character development down the line (whether said character development makes her a more likable character or not is irrelevant) but I honestly really do like just how easy it is to hate her, honestly I miss characters who are written like that, Calliou, Kevin from Steven Universe, Angelica Pickles, (my brain kinda drew a blank on annoying characters right now so I just grabbed the ones from the shows I used to watch listed on Google's most hated cartoon characters lists π ) I miss characters that, even if they don't stay that way, at least start out as characters you just wanna absolutely loose your shit at, it makes it interesting to watch them eventually grow and, whether for better or for worse, change from who they used to be, and I honestly really like that about Aurora. π
Aha oh thank you! Honestly part of why I made Aurora so unlikable is that it feels like nowadays female characters aren't allowed to be annoying. They can be flawed but they have to be like... sexy flawed. I want my girl irritating.
can i just say that I'm happy that Domino exists?
Like, as someone who suspects that i might have bpd, seeing a character who isn't stereotypically evil and just be labelled as bpd makes me happy, especially at this economy where all people with bpd are seen as selfish and manipulative
And while Domino isn't inherently a good guy either, he's neither a bad guy, he's just himself with issues he needs to work on, hell, the characters don't try to justify his actions, but at the same time they don't look down on him, and he's a freak even! And i like it about him!
So thank you for creating him man, and I hope we get to see more of him π€
Oh thank you! Domino is very precious to me because of his messiness. I feel like when characters have certain mental disorders that can make them cruel and/or unpleasant, stories can often vilify them or treat it as like a shield for their behavior.
I also didn't want to make Domino feel like he was just his mental disorders, he should be allowed to have interests, internalized beliefs and complex relationships with people. I'm glad you like him, I have a lot more fun stuff planned with him.
