I feel like... I've seen a few people talk about the terminology "xenogender users" (and even fewer talk about "term users.") I also think this discussion is important and, most of all, well-founded; the referral of those who are xenogendered as xenogender users imply they aren't actually those xenogenders, and the same goes for terms.
Has anyone actually thought of an alternative, though? I haven't seen any mentioned, though that's not necessarily a bad thing. I could have also not looked hard enough. I just think that we should be talking more about what to use instead, because I know some of us may have difficulty with figuring out what else to use.
Regardless, I'd like to propose some alternatives of my own:
- Say IDers (short for identifiers, or "one who identifies (as)") instead of users.
- Circumvent the whole "user" thing by using either second person pronouns or one/oneself. "Whatever that means to the user" turns into "Whatever that means to you" or "Whatever that means to oneself."
- Create terminology for the term meaning someone who is that thing. As an example, saying "occudeners" (not real terminology, I made it up) instead of saying "occuden users" or "people who are occuden."
✶ Knight🜲☾ or Knightprince.
A term for when one identifies as/with knights in a way that's affected by, related to, or directly caused by princes/princehood/being a prince; a knight [x]prince term.
✶ Civensi.
A term (system) for when you feel an emotion all of the time, to the point you can't separate yourself or your life from it. It colors your thoughts, your identity, your interactions, your relationships, how you feel other emotions, and so on. You could not conceive of a life where you do not feel this emotion all of the time.
✶ Resensi.
This, unlike civensi, encompasses things that wouldn't be typical emotions (such as "loving Noé Archiviste" or "clouds.") If civensi is the "anthrogender version," then resensi is the "neogender version." The same description template as above may be used.
Some Notes:
- You can be multiple civensi terms. For example, you could be sad civensi and numb civensi. The mind is a complex thing and cannot be so easily constricted.
- If you aren't sure what counts as a "typical emotion," come talk to me.
✶ Prince Incoius.
An alternative prince incoius flag I made using the colors from princeholid, though I adjusted the yellow a bit. As always, these flags aren't meant to be "better" or act as a replacement.
✶ Feliformius.
A term for when one is deeply uncomfortable or distressed when feliforms or being a feliform is associated with others and not oneself; a feliform incoius.
✶ Felidius.
A term for when one is deeply uncomfortable or distressed when felidae or being a felid is associated with others and not oneself; a felidae incoius.
✶ Catius.
A term for when one is deeply uncomfortable or distressed when house cats or being a house cat is associated with others and not oneself; a house cat incoius.
✶ [x]🜲☾ or [x]prince.
An [x]symbol term for when one identifies as/with [x] in a way that's affected by, related to, or directly caused by princes/princehood/being a prince.
✶ [x]🜲☼ or [x]princess.
An [x]symbol term for when one identifies as/with [x] in a way that's affected by, related to, or directly caused by princesses/princesshood/being a princess.
✶ [x]🜲☆ or [x]princex.
An [x]symbol term for when one identifies as/with [x] in a way that's affected by, related to, or directly caused by princexes/princexhood/being a princex.
Some Notes:
- I know @angelomour has made xcrown, but I wanted something prince-specific.
- I usually only make prince-related terms, but the thought of someone making princess and princex equivalents for specifically this term irked me... This is likely the only time I will coin princess and princex equivalents to anything.
✶ Emascboy.
A term similar to femboy, with roughly the same usage, but denoting emasculation instead of femininity. In this context, emasculation means to "deprive of masculinity." While emasculation usually implies femininity, emascboy does not, and simply implies not being masculine. Like with effemboy, please do not use this on anyone without their consent; this is a term meant for those who reclaim the term emasculated for themselves.
I'd like to make an addition to my previous post about image descriptions, as I've been seeing something happen more often. I'm not going to single anyone out, because a lot of people do this. If you do this, this post isn't directed at you specifically.
Describe your transparent images.
PT. Describe your transparent images. End PT
If you don't know what I mean, there's a bit of a "popular" format of including a transparent image the same size of one's flag in order to make the flag appear smaller.
Please believe me, but I get it. You may be thinking, "Why do I have to describe it? It's just a transparent image. People don't need to know what it is." I've had that thought before.
To that, I raise you this: some people can't tell it's a transparent image. They don't know that it's information they can ignore because they cannot see it. If their screenreader just reads "image" to them, they'll be left wondering, "But what is the image?"
If you don't know how to describe it, I genuinely do get it. It's a bit hard to describe an image of nothing, and I was a bit troubled at first when I tried to describe a transparent image. In order to stop that worry now, I would like to share a description I use: "A completely transparent image."
Forgive me for being harsh, but if you already describe your flags, then I see absolutely no reason you shouldn't describe your transparent images.
✶ Effemboy.
A term similar to femboy, with roughly the same usage, but denoting effeminacy instead of femininity. The main difference is that "effeminate" as a term is almost exclusively applied to cis men and certain trans individuals, and implies that femininity is "atypical" of a man. Because of this, please do not use this on anyone without their consent; this is a term meant for those who reclaim the term effeminate for themselves.
✶ Prince Egoceive.
A term for when you consider yourself the "Prince Person" in a way that is central to your identity. This can include, but is not limited to: wanting to be perceived as the most knowledgeable or attached to princes, and wanting others to think about you when they see princes; a prince egoceive.
✶ Knight Egoceive.
A term for when you consider yourself the "Knight Person" in a way that is central to your identity. This can include, but is not limited to: wanting to be perceived as the most knowledgeable or attached to knights, and wanting others to think about you when they see knights; a knight egoceive.
✶ Divoriune.
A gender related to being angels/angelhood in it's truest/purest form, like being a true personification of angels/angelhood, for example.
The -oriune suffix is by @laughdiamond, I believe.
Dead Dove – A term for those who are mentally ill (especially those who are traumatized,) and who's presentation (or lack thereof) is directly affected by that. It's also affected by being unapologetically mentally ill, and being true to yourself, without censoring or subverting yourself. It's a "what it says on the tin" presentation.
Term coined by @hwsband , just made a flag for it
✶ Matrimoriune.
A gender related to being marriage/matrimony in it's truest/purest form, like being a true personification of marriage/matrimony, for example.

✶ Spousoriune.

The -oriune suffix is by @laughdiamond, I believe.

The -oriune suffix is by @laughdiamond, I believe.
