I wasn’t sure where that was. I thought Brokeback Mountain might be around where he grew up. Knowing Jack, it was probably some pretend place, where bluebirds sing and there’s a whisky spring . . .

affirmations when opening a stuck jar:

  • I am stronger than the jar
  • I know what left and right are
  • smashing the jar will make a mess
  • I have strong and dextrous hands
  • I have opened jars before and I will open jars again

adam attempted the japan scavenger hunt challenge. failed it. attempted it again with half as much time in a worse place. almost killed tom scott. gave up on it now that he'd been forced to confront his teammate's mortality. and then still attempted it again. ben got the braincell in the divorce

adam wearing the jet lag hat backwards feels like a ship flying its flag upside down as a distress signal

firm believer that around the same naim was opening up about his fear that led to him outing ryan and hunter to entity ryan through the screen door the real ryan was accepting entity naim’s apology

How you know you’re in the great state of Alabama

I don't have a picture, but our area is flooded with a dude holding a comedically large hammer and looking to sue the shit out of any truckers that have injured you.

THE TEXAS HAMMER

Alexander Shunnarah is such a big meme in Alabama that people got this man to attend anime conventions multiple years in a row as a special guest that furries and cosplayers can take pictures with and get autographs from. He's on nearly Every billboard in the state.

don't forget these jungle law billboards i have to pass every day

that doesn't even scratch the surface there are so so many of them

I remember my friends and I laughing our asses off when we saw this billboard.

used to pass this every day

This is just how lawyers are.

morris bart is practically a state celebrity in louisiana

underrated naim reid-ism is how fucking impulsive he can be! he is inquisitive to a fault! love the scene where he's asking hunter about ryan— he's awkward, yeah, but he's not shrinking into his clothing! he's standing there and asking him! what about ryan? did it work on him? and because the costuming in the movie is clearly very intentional, i'd like to note that naim isn't bogged down in layers of ill-fitting jackets. in asking hunter, pressing him, he's unintentionally laying a bit of his soul bare, i think.

or when he's talking to jessica outside the hospital. he hesitates for a moment but then dives right in, do you think marnie saw you? when she died? obviously he's desperate and scared and looking for answers, but that doesn't stop him from asking quite literally the Worst Possible Invasive Question to ask!

or when he's in the mill w/ ryan and starts fights he knows he can't win! it's soooo good and i wish more fanworks capitalized on his tendency to ask invasive questions without a second thought in the heat of the moment. so much naim reid characterization online is making him timid and weary— which he can be, but ignoring his rudeness is doing him a disservice. ack!!

+ i think it further highlights the difference between how ryan and naim handle the entity and by extension their identities. ryan doesn't push jessica, doesn't push anyone because at the end of the day, despite how tired he may be, he knows who he is and what life has in store for people like him. meanwhile naim questions and reaches for help, stumbling through conversations about the entity and what it does to people because he hasn't fully accepted himself either. ugh
