What if the thing that gets clarified is the Pure Crystal
Like it'll literally be "clarified" (turned clear). and then seam kicks our butts for enrichment whether we're ready or not
Can someone understand Japanese to clarify this? From the Japanese version of the newsletter.

I don't speak Japanese, but if it's helpful here's the word used here to mean "clearly":
which does contain Kanji for the word "bright", which could still have the double meaning of brightening something (like...a shadow crystal?)
chiming in to say that line translates to!:

that being said, in Japanese the pure crystal is simply called the pure gem
with the description being
By the powers of a certain cat, its property of darkness/shadow has been purified.
no use of 明 though I guess implied by the purification!

yk i truly am blissfully ignorant to what is happening outside of my small corner of tumblr, because wdym people were so pissed about chapter 5's pacing that toby had to come out and legitimately say 'let me make the damn game you guys don't have all the information'
to be upfront, i've always had full faith that toby would cook (yes, i do love every chapter) and i'm eagerly awaiting how he's going to destroy my heart in the next two chapters, but tbf...?
even if toby WERE to somehow fumble deltarune, i honestly wouldn't mind all too much
deltarune is special to me because there's so much fun and joy to be had around analyzing and interpreting its characters and narrative. toby's meticulous storytelling means that there is always something new to uncover, to recontextualize, and to play with.
and that's the crux of it really.
deltarune feels like a sandbox for my brain to run around and have fun in. i've made tons of memories the past 8 years or whatever just enjoying the possibilities regardless of whether or not they became canon. it's why the game is worth analyzing and typing up thousands of words about: because the creator invites you to come play in the spaces he creates.
i just want to see an artist execute their vision, no matter what shape or form that takes (or how the audience takes it). he has a dream he wants to make come true and we're getting to see that in real-time.
even if he takes it in a direction i don't care for (like side b being mandatory for a true ending) or whatever, it's still his vision and i'll respect it. it won't destroy what i did enjoy of the game thus far and if i somehow REALLY don't like the ending or whatever, there is always a thriving fanon because he laid down this groundwork for people to imagine his story in different ways
tl;dr i trust the dog will cook and even if he burns the scallops a little, it's okay! i had a good meal thus far and can always cook my own if i miraculously end up not liking it :P
