ᯓ DICK GRAYSON .ᐟ has a staring problem. that much is evident as the man watched you from across the little cafe you both had walked into almost twenty minutes ago. it didn’t matter what you were doing or if you even looked at him back, his eyes remained on you—a small pout gracing his lips whenever you both locked eyes.
but why was dick seated at the opposite side of the cafe instead of sitting with you? the answer is quite simple really. dick grayson just didn’t know how to keep quiet. you loved your yapper, right hand on the bible you would never take his yapper trait for granted but! there is moments in time where you just needed to focus.
that moment was now. you had a big paper you needed to complete and you needed to lock in. dick offered some coffee and fresh air and you accept with the notion that he allowed you to focus on your paper. he agreed, but you should have known that he couldn’t last a minute before he began asking you random questions.
eventually you packed your stuff up and moved to the opposite side of the cafe, ordering him to stay seated until you were finish.
he listened this time, opting to use this moment to distract himself by calling almost anyone and everyone to complain about how mean you were being. when that quickly got boring he decided he was going to participate in a bit of role playing.
he stopped pouting and starting winking at you every time you glanced over towards him. he then moved on to ordering your favorite pastry, telling the waiter to deliver it to you making sure they referred him as some random man in the corner over there.
you smiled softly, shaking your head in disbelief as you finished typing your last paragraph. dick swooned at your smile, till this day it made his heart beat just a bit faster. “hey beautiful, you come here often?” he said as he neared you, taking the seat from another table to place besides you.
you ignored him, which in turn only egged him on “i couldn’t help but notice you from my seat over there, you have a beautiful smile—give me another one?” still you stayed silent, fingers typing away at your keyboard.
“or what about your number? can i have that? promise i’ll call you” you sighed in relief, as the last word was typed and your draft was officially completed—ready to be sent to alfred to proofread as he was the only one you trusted to do so.
now dick can have your full attention. “maybe we could just skip the conversations and head to my place? its not that far from here” he cheesed as you let out a soft snort at his words.
“excuse me ma’am is he bothering you?” you both looked up to see the waiter who served you your pastry that dick had ordered not that long ago.
“he is yes, but thats why i love him”
“i get to bother her for life” dick happily held up his left hand, showing off his wedding band with pride.
