This is going to be my first Tumblr post; I’m so happy that one of my best pieces of art is dedicated to the Asuka x Kyo/Kyo x Asuka ship. This drawing holds so much history and detail—I could go on listing them forever. I hope you love it; I really do. Never let this ship die :')
From now on, I’ll be posting Digimon art and other things here. I think I just need to move forward, let go of past fears, and stop making excuses. I’m absolutely loving Digimon Beatbreak, and I want everyone to see the affection for the series that I’m pouring into my drawings.
Anyway, I’ll post without pressure, at my own pace. Sorry if this sounded like a personal letter, but you have no idea how incredibly meaningful this moment is to me :')
Details I saved for last:
- I did this without a drawing tablet or mouse—using my laptop's trackpad instead—which made the process take longer than usual.
- I designed Asuka's kimono outfit from scratch; that was another time-consuming part (Kyo's outfit already exists, so I just had to replicate it).
- Her eyes are highly detailed; I used the colors from my first drawing of her, having literally zoomed in and searched for HD images to find the closest matches to Asuka's actual colors (I can share the exact color codes if anyone needs them).
- The scarf her brother gave her, along with her clothes and shoes, resemble the ones Tomoro wears with his kimono outfit.
- It was my first time drawing a park bench.
- I used a blue/red and black/white color scheme (come to think of it, I wonder how Asuka would have looked in white pants).
- I almost forgot Asuka's earring (I would have kicked myself if I’d published it like that).
- Another point I forgot to mention is that, originally, they were going to be sitting on the steps of the Nirinso Observatory, but the atmosphere created by the cherry blossoms—and their connection to both characters—made me change my plans (I had never drawn trees before, so I spent a really long time on them).
I think these are the important points worth highlighting; thank you for making it this far and taking the time to read the whole thing :DDDD
(I speak Spanish; it's my native language, and if I make spelling mistakes… I apologize.)
