been having really really vivid dreams lately and in one last night i met a giant :) i went through a bunch of Ordeals while texting a new internet friend the whole time, and at the end of the dream i was soooo tired and miserable, and he showed up in person to cheer me up. he was HUUUUUGE like i was literally one third of his index finger. i didn’t know he was a giant so i was super surprised when he showed up, but he just smiled really softly and got down to my level very gently and held out a hand. i put my hand on his fingertip and i could feel all the little ridges of his fingerprint. he was so warm. later he shifted up to kneeling and man, looking up at him was insaneeee it was breathtaking. one of my most vivid g/t dreams ever can i get a hell yeah

Like, seriously, a tiny person being placed on a sleeping giant's chest, or just hugging their way into the giant's chest with their whole body… A small person surrendering their entire tiny body to a giant's chest, feeling that warmth and absolute safety, like this huge reliable floor or wall taking up their whole view…

I can say with 100% certainty that no matter how many times people use this trope throughout history or across the world, I'm never, ever gonna get tired of it.

Yeah, when it comes to hugs between a tiny person and a giant, the chest is definitely the classic spot…

Oh, but wait, a hug with cheek-to-cheek nuzzling is amazing too, or gently touching with noses or eyelids with eyes closed, or clinging around the neck where you can feel the heartbeat and body heat even better than the chest, or hugging the stomach where you can almost feel the contours of abs and the movement inside… Honestly, every single spot is just so good.

By the way, my personal favorite thing is… well, it might not strictly be a hug, but it's where the giant cups the tiny person in both hands, super gently and sloooowly applying just the right amount of pressure, completely enveloping their entire body 360 degrees in warmth, a heartbeat, and cozy pressure.

I guess you could call it a "hand-hug"? …Yeah, now that I've written it down, it's definitely not a "hug," is it? Oh well, I love it anyway.

I mean, isn't it the ultimate way to cherish a precious, tiny life that fits right in your hands with all your heart? And at the same time, it effortlessly partitions off the entire world around them, closing them in and keeping them all to yourself—literally holding them in the palm of your hand. Their senses are completely filled with nothing but the giant hands and their owner. Yet, on the flip side, it acts as the ultimate cradle—so safe, secure, and intimately close.

It's just so immensely huge, yet so arrogant, and yet so full of affection, you know? God, it's the best.

Oh well it's 4am meaning it's the best time to update you guys on my works in progress, which are

✨✨ ~ Character Designs ~ ✨✨

These past two months or so I was focused on making the designs of the other characters from Out of Bounds. And only Seb is left! I actually wanted to make a reference sheet for each of them but realized this is currently unfeasible at my situation. I've moved cities and I'm living alone for the first time, so when weekend comes I'm too mentally and emotionally exhausted to work on my drawings.

So I've decided to show yall how they're looking so far!

Here's Ian fully shaded design! It's been done and ready for a while now, actually. I really enjoy his design, but lmk what you guys think!

And these are the finalized designs for Helena and Zora! For Helena, I wanted her to have a very practical look, almost like an uniform. High tech, but casual and loose. Very "cool mom" - like.

Zora's design was the hardest but the most rewarding! It seems I strayed far away from the baggy clothes I gave her in Ethan's reference sheet. She enjoys high fashion but is also always stuck in the lab as a genetics research student, so I wanted her design to reflect that.

Anyway, between these things and the recent asks I've answered, that's what I've gotten so far. I'm not sure when I'll be able to post more, but everyday I think about these characters, their world, and the story I'm building. The chapter by chapter outline is progressing, but it is a complex story that's taking me a lot of planning.

Under a quick discussion with @shortshifter regarding Kelan and Nole's world lore.

With mini giants being created by a virus and a mutation that some strain of humans had. Prior to the virus, people would have already had their fantasy stories of giants and all.

So the new mutation of oversized human's calling themselves mini giants doesn't seem too far of a stretch as well.

A little something that came to me in a burst of inspiration a few evenings ago. I had so much fun writing this one 🤭🤭 Hope you enjoy! (And to the person reading this whose creativity inspires me every day, thank you. The circus has come to town.)
