Pinned Masterpost Thing

Hello! This is an obligatory pinned post about me.

My name is Ashlee and I’m an artist and occasional writer, currently primarily for My Chemical Romance with some other fandoms sprinkled in from time to time! The blog is 90% SFW but no promises. Here are all the things I post most here on this blog, as well as things I’ve done in the past that I dedicated a lot of time to. Enjoy!

If you’re enjoying my work, I do have a ko-fi for tips, but don’t feel obligated to visit! This is all just a free labor of love.

The Black Parade / @theblackparadecomic (fancomic) - An adaptation of MCR’s The Black Parade, using lyrics from all songs on the originally released album. Updates very sporadically! Be patient with me! Currently on the second volume, which may be slow as I complete The Gilded Freefall!

The Gilded Freefall / Ao3 Link / A KPDH fanfiction detailing an alternate universe where Jinu doesn't betray Rumi at the Idol Awards, but things still go pretty terribly. Rumi and Jinu centric, Rujinu, but involves a lot of characters across the board.

God, I wish I could provide a better answer... but the tragic one is that I really haven't gotten to read a lot for myself due to how absolutely packed my schedule is. I mostly have time to draw and write what I need for my own projects, so while I have started a number of fanfic, I haven't had the opportunity to catch up ... I'm a bad fanfic fan. 😭😭😭

But if I could recommend some folks who I'm in the slow process of reading or who have had recent fanfic projects in the tags (as well as people who are probably better suited to recommend fanfic): @emletish-fish, @dayeongi, @starcut-sand, @purplecatghostposts, and I have enjoyed some works by herbivorous_trash on ao3 as well. Honestly, if people have recommendations for ME for when my fanfic is over and I have more free time to enjoy some juicy KPDH fanfic, I'd appreciate it too!! I'll make me a list of goodies to read...

let's do this again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again-

He sucks in a breath and begins digging around in the pockets of a suit coat he’s been wearing way longer than he wants to admit. “They’ll be back. I know they will.”

Without looking at him, Celine says, “You’re fired.”

Maybe that should have sent a shock-wave through him to his core, and on any other day it would be the most devastating thing she or any of the girls could have said, but... he feels an odd sense of peace. If she means it, if she doesn’t — doesn’t matter, not right now. He abandons his coat pockets and reaches into his pants pockets, squirming to collect the slightly crushed box waiting in one of them.

“Fine. But I’m not going anywhere until they’re back.”

As he peels plastic off of the small carton in his hands, Celine finally gives him her full attention. There’s a real sense of familiarity in the way he collects a single cigarette from the box and sets it in his mouth.

“…What are you doing?”

He snaps the pad of his thumb across the spark wheel of a lighter found in the other back pocket, and a small teardrop-shaped flame flutters in the air. When he replies, he talks around the cigarette seesawing between his lips. He’s not proud of himself for this one, but - “I picked these up at the store earlier… I quit a long time ago, but…”

An impulsive purchase from a stressed out individual. As the tobacco burns hot and he takes his first breath in, he makes a note to quit the moment the girls return. Celine watches the smoke trail up in thin wisps, her expression unreadable even as she holds out her hand.

“Give it here.”

He does.

Sitting in the nearly clean penthouse living room, wearing both unchanged clothes and drained expressions, the two slouch into the cushions and lapse into resigned silence. She, him, and the unblinking duck mascot between them.

Before her is the entrance to the hanok village, with sloping rooftops and vintage windows skirted by bricks. Between the homes with their softly glowing windows are flights of stone steps. A small sign posted at the entrance shows a little man holding a finger to his lips, warning visitors to whisper and behave, but Rumi is anything but quiet and proper as she runs toward the staircase and begins to ascend.

The world around her rushes by as a single name pushes past her panting lips: "Jinu...!"

Around the corner, up at the top of the winding steps, she finds him. In a familiar gray sweater and tight jeans that remind her of a secret meeting what felt like an eternity ago. He rises to his feet, relief burning bright in his eyes as he starts descending to meet her, slow at first, then with urgency in each footfall as he takes two steps at a time.

"Rumi!"

Music to her ears. She’d just seen him one dream ago, but it’s still been too long.

They meet in the middle, driven by the promise of a grateful embrace. It can't be as tangible and real and warm as reality, couldn’t replicate the sensation of two living bodies coming together as one, but when she throws her arms around his neck and hangs off him, she can feel his his soul, his mind, his presence as it finds her own. Both surprise and relief pulses through her veins as Jinu lifts her, swings her around, his laughter light and happy against her cheek. His breath isn't warm, doesn't tickle the shell of her ear, but his spirit has never felt so tangible.

“I must admit, I thought you might’ve had a little more fight left in you since that outburst at my throne.”

Jinu rolls his head back against the wall. “Disappointed? I thought you’d be enjoying the sight.”

Not that there’s much to be seen here in the endless dark. He’s only caught glimpses of himself here and there: thin strips of scar tissue where claws had once found him; slimmer wrists; dirt under his nails and dried blood caked on ripped jeans. He knows he’s an enjoyable sight to Gwi-Ma right now, even if the demon king clicks a tongue in his eardrum like it’s anything different.

“It’s just a shame to see you rotting away down here so easily this time around.” Heat runs up his arms as his muscles go rigid. He feels it now, his body shifting into a familiar little puppet under Gwi-Ma’s whims, patterns lighting up and casting the pit in a nauseating pink light. The quilt around his shoulders falls off as he’s dragged to stand on his own two feet. Despite the rush of his heartbeat and the burn of his markings, he doesn’t fight it. Gwi-Ma toys with the weight of his body before dropping him to his knees on the floor.

“Not an ounce of struggle left to offer? No attempts to talk your way out this time? You were always such an eloquent speaker compared to the others. I knew you despised me, sure, but you were always so charming about it. Now look at you…”

The patterns on Jinu’s face glow while Gwi-Ma tilts his head left and right, as if genuinely assessing him. He wonders what he must look like, bathed in light from his own badges of shame. He tells the voice that cloys around him: “You’re going to waste the precious time you have left on me?"

The biggest struggle...

Chapter 30 is the final chapter in Act I of The Gilded Freefall that needs a drawing...! But I'm again torn on which one to choose. There's Mira texting Celine in the beginning of the chapter, but also... beat up glowing Jinu from the end of the chapter????

I love drawing me some glowing and/or hurt Jinu, but is it overkill? Would it be more beneficial to have a more ordinary drawing? Or should I give more focus on whatever I can for the Pit, since there are so few scenes down there that aren't 100% pitch black????

Ouuugh I'm struggling... I'll figure it out tomorrow!

Anonymous asked:

I know they are secondary characters but please I beg you for more material of Min-jun and Dae-jung and maybe the other demons there because damn I cried my eyes out at the last chapter

I'm sorry for your tears, anon! 😭

it means i did something right at least

I am a lover of secondary and/or original characters for SURE, and I have some loose concepts and other supplementary OC demons that may or may not get used. The fanfic focuses on Rujinu obviously, but I think it's so extremely important to balance a story with a fleshed out cast that properly fulfills the themes and character arcs, so there is always a chance for more if it serves the story properly!
