as a life long chronic dragon girly i would like to personally thank you for your incredible dragons i freaking love them sooo so much and i'm so happy i finally found your blog after seeing these comics uncredited on youtube shorts for like foreeeever </3
Welcome to the wyrm hoard, and thank you for the kind message!
I’m glad you found my original comics! I imagine they’re a better experience than all the AI-voiced, deep-fried aberrations that appear on my own feed too, haha. I am all for creators who don’t profit off my comics and create their own content for dubs, but they’re in the minority.
Honestly the situation is a bit dire with the uncredited reposts circulating on YouTube, TikTok and whatnot. The music choices are always astonishing too. I suppose I could plaster a larger watermark over all my panels, but that’s such an eyesoreeeee, and for the reposters it’s a matter of seconds to remove them.
Anyway, sorry for derailing your lovely message with the rant! I feel like a lot of artists whose posts reach a wide audience are sometimes more successful at controlling when and where their posts end up, and whether they’re properly credited. Or maybe not, and this is simply something that needs to be swallowed and moved on from.
I recently discovered your blog so I Gotta ask - was there an inspiration for you to make these comic about adorable dragons? The first thing that came to my mind was Wings Of Fire tbh XD. But anyway, you make amazing comics that always light up my day, thank you for that.
(Some of these asks are ancient at this point sorry!)
Flight Rising: I used to be an avid Flight Rising player (joined in 2017 when I was 13 years old), but I don’t play anymore. No reason in particular, my interest just died out. I sometimes hop on to read the news and take a look at new content though
Wings of Fire: So I actually didn’t know anything about it, but every comic about Swordfish brought on a gazillion comments of “is that a Seawing??” (mostly on TikTok), so I got curious and read through, I think, the first issue of the graphic novel? And although it has everything I like in theory, I just didn’t get hooked nor attached to any of the characters. I do like the dragon designs though! And yes, Swordfish does look similar to a Seawing - not intentionally though :)
Both Swordfish and Hopper are actually from the game Istaria: Chronicles of the Gifted! It’s an old MMORPG where you can play as a dragon (and other fantastical races) and it was THE game of my childhood!!! These are the “canon” appearances of Swordfish and Hopper from the game I drew up right now:
Try making cute dragon comics with these faces lol
But yeah, Istaria was the birthplace of these two, before they developed into their own thing. I still rediscover the game every 1,5 years and hop on to play! It has a very small playerbase, but they have a tight-knit Discord server with very-very sweet players. The game is very grindy with outdated graphics, but it singlehandedly shaped my taste in basically everything. I live and breathe the Istarian aesthetic I really do love it so much. So I really recommend checking Istaria out because I want to pay homage to this uniquely beautiful game! Maybe you’ll even see Swordfish or Hopper running around

Hello! Worry not! I am very much alive! Here’s a panel of a comic in the works as proof ^
I apologize that I’ve made people worried with my absence. Truth is that I’ve been doing literally anything and everything not-art-related! It gave me time to reflect on what part I want art to play in my life, and I’ve realized it gives me the most joy as a hobby, not as a job with dreadful self-imposed deadlines and constant agonizing of what the next great comic idea needs to be. And I’m sure many artists feel that way. I’m thankful that I have the choice to pursue other aspirations, and I’ve taken that opportunity! Moving to a new country this year and fingers crossed I enroll in uni again!
So this means that I can create comics as a free-time hobby again, which I feel is now giving me that spark back. It’s an ongoing process, but I really-really like this new comic, and I hope you’ll enjoy it too when I post it!
Avoryx’s plush is available for preorder for a week more! Link:
We reached the production milestone a little while ago, which means she is guaranteed to be made! :)
And yes, that is the same knight from the previous comic! Who knows what they’ve endured to reach these two. Weeks of travel, and not once did they stop to wonder if they might be biting off more than they can chew.
Avoryx plush will be available for the final 5 hours, after which it will be retired by Makeship! We’ve reached over 600 orders, and I am so grateful for all the support you’ve shown me. Thank you! :)
The post that nobody definitely hasn’t seen before ..
Happy to announce (for real this time lol) that our evil dragon mom, Avoryx the Wicked, has been plushified and will be wreaking havoc for 21 days on Makeship, after which she will take flight to conquer the next realm!
She wouldn’t have been born without your love and enthusiasm you’ve shown for the character. Thank you! :) It’s a crazy privilege to be able to create plushies out of my beloved dragons and have them travel all over the world!
Just a heads-up for anyone keeping an eye on the plush: Avoryx’s campaign officially has now 3 days left, but Makeship automatically adds a 7-day extension when the timer runs out.
I thought it would be good to clarify so no one feels misled or anything.
But we’ve passed 400 orders/200% of the goal, so thank you!!!

So we've meet Hopper's family but what about Swordfish?
Since you were all so curious! :)
Swordfish was still in the egg when it happened. His parents weren’t the traditional gold-hoarding, conquest-hungry kind of dragons. They guarded the land without meddling in human affairs.
When Avoryx, a malevolent wyrm ruined and twisted by her own past, came down from the sky, she destroyed everything and everyone she saw as a threat to her future offspring. Her only goal was make the world safe for the child she hadn't yet hatched. She defeated Swordfish’s parents in battle, though she got grievously injured herself. The dragon slinked away to tend to her wounds, leaving the egg undiscovered.
Avoryx’s conquest marked a new era of fear and despair, but over time, she slowed, and the land recovered. But by now she has made so many enemies, and her past will catch up to her. Dragons like her always meet the sword.
But anyway she doesn’t eat Swordfish because he’s Hopper’s best friend forever and she doesn’t want to make her rosy-hued baby sad!

This is the most "oh, how annoyingly endearing!" face Avoryx is capable of making. That, or she's about to crash out so hard
