My cat was never afraid of thunderstorms, before ruzzian full scale invasion and the subsequent attacks with Grads and ballistic on Orikhiv. She was never the one to cower and hide, crawling into a safe place on her belly. Now, years later, she is still shaking and afraid of any, even far away, thunder, hiding in a hallway before lightning strike. And we sit with her, wrapped in a blanket, and talk over the thunder loudly, trying to keep her calm. She is 17 y.o. In Orikhiv, she wouldn't even want to come home from the yard during a thunderstorm, she could sleep under the covering happily, if rain wasn't too bad. Even if it was like 45°C outside. She would gladly come out to greet our guests, rubbing herself all over them before, now she is hiding under my bed whenever the door bell rings, or when she hears our neighbour closing their door. It's heartbreaking to see her like this.
Happened to my cat too :( he's now terrified of loud noises even though it wasn't a case till this summer
