“You have any more, Rafe?”

She sounds so whiny. They all sound so fucking whiney to him. He wishes they’d just shut up. Let him use them and then leave. He’s got two of them in his bed now, and for a while he’d watched listlessly as they’d kissed, played around, snorted coke off each other’s naked bodies like the desperate whores they were. He’d called them as a distraction, but now he didn’t even have the heart. Fucking pathetic.

“Bottom drawer.” He mutters, picking up his phone for the tenth time. One of the girls crawls over him, rummaging around in his drawers and brushing her naked body enticingly against him. He couldn’t give less of a shit though. His thumb hovers over your name saved on his phone, and for the hundredth time since the whole fiasco last week, he considers calling or texting you.

Rafe hadn’t run after you that day, when you’d overheard him talking all types of shit about you to his dumb fucking friends. When he’d lied about fucking you, when he’d proclaimed you were no different from any other Pogue slut who’d spread her legs for him. All with a straight face like some type of robot, and you’d cried and run, leaving your books on the ground behind you.

And he’d wanted to run after you. He hates to admit it, but there was a part of him that wanted to chase after you, gather you in his arms and wipe your tears and tell you you’d heard wrong, that he didn’t mean any of it. That he’d just acted up in front of his friends for some stupid reason or the other. That he was sorry.

But he hadn’t. Because he was Rafe fucking Cameron and he never ran after anyone. Especially not a Pogue.

If you don’t mind me asking, how is the writing process for nehm 3 going in comparison to the first two parts? Like do you feel like you’re writing faster, writing more, more inspired, planning out more scenes? How are you enjoying writing it?

It’s going good! Like chapter 2 was pretty hard to write but chapter 3 is going a lot more smoothly. I haven’t hit any type of writer’s block yet, I do have the chapter more concisely planned out in my head than I did the first two chapters. I feel like I’m making a lot of progress and not putting too much pressure on myself like I was when I was writing chapter 2.

I feel like going into chapter 3, the characters are more developed now so it makes the story easier to write. Plus, going in with a clear objective (Rafe lying about her being his girlfriend) makes it easier to build up a story around. So overall it’s going great!

thank you! 🥹🫶🏼 and yes, the last chapter of poyt was almost 40k words! i really wanted to go out with a bang and like SO many people were following that story it was actually insane. like it had SO many readers i still cannot fathom it. my little abo college au story 🥹

nehm 3 is shaping up to definitely be longer than the first two chapters. there’s just sooo much of the story to cover in this third part! i’ve currently written 5000 words and that’s just covering one and a half scene! and off the top of my head so far nehm 3 is planned to have like 9 scenes 😭

I believe this is because you’re not required to write Rafe (or any character) as canon compliant. There are no rules to fanfiction saying that you HAVE to write Rafe exactly how he is in the show. Bc that takes away so much creative freedom. The best part of fanfiction is that there are no rules. Like tomorrow i could post a fic where Rafe is a friendly computer nerd, or a ruthless mafia boss. Like it genuinely doesn’t matter. Most people write about Rafe bc they find him physically attractive so he’s like a face to their fantasies.
