Since rewatching the SB movie I've been buzzing with "I wanna do that" energy (more than usual), so I'm doing a study of the whole film.. in animatic form! Messy and scribbly and just for learning purposes, knocking out a scene or two a day as a warm-up. Thought I'd share what I have so far for fun!

Cart of Darkness hijinks! It was a lot of fun getting to flex the ol' animation muscles on this one, I learned a lot about perspective and mass and physics. Who said cartoons can't be educational? (co-starring some revisions here 'n there by Mike Dougherty and Tim Prendergast!)

A toilet paper ballet to start your Saturday, from Slumber Party Stars! This is another sequence near and dear to my cartooning heart; I got to pitch and board it from scratch!! I loooove timing cartoons to music and I looove Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty Waltz, so I'm incredibly grateful to have been able to combine the two. I had a copy of the song saved already from a separate personal storyboard animatic that never found legs, so I'm really happy I was able to find new life for it! I learned so much more about boarding and directing and am just so grateful that this silly little idea was able to blossom into something so fun!
