i do not want to divert the attention from the current issue, but i would like to take a moment to address the same issue here on tumblr as well.

as someone who’s journey started on tumblr with multiple hate asks every single day, and also as someone who has seen many people getting harrassed for non issues, it is important to acknowledge how normalised this kind of behaviour is in fandom spaces.

i do not like to talk about these things publicly, but i do consider myself mentally strong. however, those asks really did hurt and affected me more than i thought they would. on days, i really did not want to come here simply because reading the kind of asks some people sent me really made me feel terrible about myself.

but this is not about me, but rather about how much your words can affect someone.

you never know what someone is going through in their life. you never know what could be their last straw. if you want to hold someone accountable, do it wisely instead of resorting to hate. rude words, death threats, insults, harrassment, these things don’t make you morally superior.

there are people behind these screens and it feels like everyone tends to forget that simply because they want to see someone they don’t like suffering.

it is our responsibility to make this a safe place for everyone. do not waste your precious time writing hateful messages when you can spread love and positivity. being kind is the easiest thing to do in this world yet still we have people who choose to spread hate.

sitting behind a screen will not make you immune to the consequences of your actions. sooner or later, everything will catch up to you and you will only realise how wrong you are when it’ll be too late.

we shouldn’t need an innocent girl taking her life to understand these things, it’s shameful that we are having this conversation calling it a ‘lesson’— her life shouldn’t have been the cost of people realising how cyberbullying affects someone.

unfortunately, we cannot bring her back and i wish her my best, wherever she is. i hope she is in peace, finally. however, what we can do is break this cycle and protect ourselves and the people around us.

it's absolutely disgusting that people online harassed and bullied a person to their death because of kpop. just because people are behind a screen, does not make them less real. there is no justification for what has been said to her that led up to the decision that she took. even right before, people were encouraging her to harm herself or justifying their hate. kpop should never come before your morals as a human being, and if you find yourself encouraging or actively engaging in hateful behavior on behalf of who you stan, you need to take a step back from fandom spaces and kpop as a whole.

the focus shouldn't be on fanwars, generating "hit tweets," or on the members right now. the main priority should be remembering this angel kindly. this was a sister, daughter, friend, fan, and person. please remember that your actions and words have consequences. rest in peace to this sweet girl.

i’m so tired of seeing people use ai to write their fics and then ever so confidently accept all the praise coming their way— don’t you have any shame?

many of us are here are brainstorming, writing and rewriting, trying to take the sweet time of their busy days to write and you are out here feeding everyone ai slop and claiming it as a fruit of your own hardwork.

i’m tired of coming across fics that are so obviously ai and no one bats an eye. it’s so disgusting, even the readers too. you guys would consume anything as long as it feeds your delusion. it hurts to see genuine writers being overshadowed by the ones who post works every other day using ai and get the attention.

and by using ai, you’re making it hard for everyone. even the genuine, organic writers get accused of using ai and honestly, i don’t blame anyone for being paranoid. with the rise of ai fics in this community, don’t be surprised that everyone else who is innocent is being targeted because of a few talentless, uncreative sorry excuse of writers who cannot write one sentence on their own.

i don’t care if you only use ai to find prompts, or outline your plot, or fix the grammar— ai is ai, and as someone who puts my precious time and effort into coming up with every single detail about my works, i find it disrespectful to myself and several other genuine writers that ai writers get away with these things by making lame excuses.

if you don’t have time to write, deactivate. it’s not an excuse to use ai to post frequently. i don’t care if you aren’t native english speaker or have a bad grammar, learn it. that’s how we learn and have been learning for ages. humans existed before ai and frankly, lived better and cognitively more productive life than the ones right now.

what’s the point of calling yourself a writer if you cannot write one thing on your own? trust me, it gets easier as your proceed. not all of us were born with the talent to write. we picked it up and we learnt instead of putting out ai works and claiming it as our own without any shame.

no one is asking you to put out pictures perfect fics. i don’t care if there are spelling mistakes or grammer inconsistencies. none of it matters as long as you are putting in the work to improve yourself instead of resorting to some cheap tool that is harming the community and the planet.

if you use ai, just stop. if you cannot, deactivate. i’m being so serious, you have no place in a community that was built off creativity. you are doing nothing but ruining this place for everyone else.
