After 2 years of back and forth of potential cancellation rumors, Disney Kids & Family has set the release date for the second season of "ZOMBIES: The Re-Animated Series" for Saturday, September 12 with a 10-episode marathon starting at 8:00PM with, this batch will stream on Disney+ the following day.
The surprising return should is not a shock as the “ZOMBIES” franchise has become one of the most popular Disney Channel Original Movie franchises, with cable telecasts for the first three films ranking No. 1 among Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14 in their premiere years,* and garnering 385 million-hours watched across linear and streaming in the U.S. (including series and shorts).** The summer 2024 premiere of “ZOMBIES 4: Dawn of the Vampires” garnered 9.3 million views globally in its first nine days streaming, amassing 43 million views in less than 6 months.***
Additionaly showrunners Aliki Theofilopoulous and Jack Ferraiolo have an overall development deal with Disney Television Animation to produce new series, films and specials as well rebooting and developing series based on core Disney IPs and other Disney Kids & Family properties.

Likely was part of the distribution license with Warner Bros expiring and they privatized the videos while rebranding the Disney XD Youtube channel into the main Disney Channel Youtube channel dedicated to their live-action programming.

During the interview, a question on the potential series order for "The Muppet Show" (2026) was asked with Slaughter and Jacobson stating the following:
Despite the strong reviews and the Emmy nominations, the “Muppet Show” revival has so far been a one-off. Given how much went into bringing back the iconic program, this can’t be it, can it Slaughter doesn’t have any news to report, except to say that it takes time to figure out what’s right for the Muppets and what’s right for Disney.
"SuperKitties" Sets Halloween And Thanksgiving Specials For Fall Season
In honor of “The New SuperKitty,” premiering today on Disney Jr. and Disney+; Disney Kids & Family has announced that "SuperKitties" will be getting Halloween and Thanksgiving episodes slated for Fall 2026.
- “Howl-O-Ween Charm” – When the Howl-o-ween Cat’s charm is stolen, a group of Trixters escapes into Kittydale. The SuperKitties must put the Trixters back in the charm before their tricks ruin Howl-o-ween.
- “Friendsgiving Feast” – When the Glamsters steal treats and decorations around Kittydale, the SuperKitties and Willa race to save everyone’s Friendsgiving traditions. Jenifer Lewis ("Sony Pictures Animation "Goat") and Henry Winkler guest star in the special as Evie’s glamorous grandma Glammy and Sam and Eddie’s Uncle Tony, respectively.
