BA 47: IS THERE ANYTHING YOU STAND FOR THAT TRANSCENDS OUR OPPRESSION?
The fire of Revolution that once fueled us as a People, was doused and the embers redirected to consume our People in self destruction.
What would you NOT go for? WHEN is enough, enough? When we analyze how WE resisted the full weight of state repression, and came out the stronger, it was due to the sure knowledge that we were earmarked for destruction, and that understanding is what forged us into this uncompromising force that we are.
What about you? There are plenty of affirmations, Oaths and claims cats make UNTIL they find themselves in a situation that they can't get out of, or their looking down the barrel of penitentiary time, and all of that goes out the window. They become informants, rats, and snitches, false claim makers and Oath breakers.
But what would compel YOU NOT TO BREAK, to refuse to snitch no matter the consequences, what are you truly willing to lay your LIFE down for? When is it you say to yourself, there are some principles I can not and will not compromise and what conditions must you be confronted with that would compel you to break with unprogressive attitudes, self-destructive patterns and the hate that hate created? What do YOU stand for?
During this Black August 47 commemoration, this is the question we must ask ourselves as a People, as a Community, as individuals. If you stand for nothing, you will fall for anything, and by and large we see our People, our youth and our desperate, doing just that.
So as we embark on BA 47, let this be foremost in your minds. Let it lead you to stand firm against the division, internal weakness and social convenience that finds us still hindmost in every area of People activity. Let YOUR example inspire those Sistas and Brothas who are capable of such inspiration. Transcend our oppression and become a beacon of Black August Resistance. Join us in Restoring our New Afrikan Communities, and our New Afrikan Nation. Join us in making ourselves strong once again. KAN'T STOP! WON'T STOP!
