Not-So-Secret (Sabo x Reader)
Beyond the window, waves crashed against the shoreline at a steady, unerring pace. A small group of birds had descended on the sand, plodding through the wet ground in search of food. The sun had vanished almost entirely behind the horizon, casting gorgeous oranges and pinks across the sky.
It was a nice view but nothing interesting enough for Sabo to be staring quite as hard as he was.
You leaned over and kissed his cheek. He startled slightly, not having noticed you move from your spot in the kitchen. You chuckled to yourself.
“This is why I said you’re too contemplative today. You didn’t hear me?”
“I was thinking,” he defended himself. He caught your arm before you could move away and offered an apologetic kiss to the corner of your mouth. “Sorry, did I miss what you were saying?”
“A little. It wasn’t important though. Why are you thinking so hard?”
From his expression, it had to be connected to you. He’d been giving you that look since he arrived and though you were willing to wait, you had to admit you were getting curious.
And he was still just watching you.
“I have theories,” you said as you stepped away.
