What hurts the most about season 4 is the fact that they had the potential to make a fantastic ship canon but they didn’t, and that ship was not only just a pair with great potential and actual believability but it was also an lgbt ship which would’ve been representation that people very much need. (talking about yasammy btw)
I didn’t hate everything about season 4 I think there were fantastic parts in it, but knowing the writers (and other people who were in charge) would push a ship that doesn’t make that much sense & didn’t have any (or at least not a whole lot of) development over yasammy is kinda homophobic in my opinion. I didn’t hate Kenji & Brook as a couple before, but now I don’t know how I feel about it because I’m just bitter it was chosen over other ships that made more sense or had more potential (not only yasammy at this point, but dinostar, benji, benrius etc.)
btw it’s alright if you liked kenjilynn (or whatever the shipname is) but please try to understand why a lot of people are upset <3

To me there is something super shady and uncomfortable about the two white passing characters ending up canon over the wlw ship they have heavily hinted, the mlm ship they hinted at, and the ship with a minority in it they have hinted at. It just makes me super uncomfortable. Especially since it had almost no build up.
yall know that most of us are not mad because benji or dinostar is not canon, we're mad because kenji x brooklyn is really random and they have zero romantic chemistry, right???, they give strong siblings vibes. not to mention she's 13 and he's 16, im sorry but that's just weird 💀 if the writers really wanted them to be a couple they should've started giving them some development at least 2 seasons ago, kenji flirted with brooklyn once in season 1 and they never had any other actual romantic interaction. like yeah i have my ships but i honestly wasn't expecting the writers to make anything canon, after all they are kids and i just want to get them to therapy
