Fic summary: You’re the Uchiha’s best-kept secret. Now that the truth is out, everyone thinks they know what to do with you. The clan says control. The village says results. And someone in the dark just says, “Mine.” The men assigned to guard you? They’re really bad at their job.

There is an ancient, unspoken code among men who have fought together. A sacred, primal pact that's older than jutsu, clan names, or even language itself. If your brother falls, you carry him. If he's hungry, you share your last meal. You never take the last drink without offering it first. You never use the urinal directly next to his when there's a perfectly good one further down. If your bro dies on a mission, you upgrade it to S-rank in the report. And if he asks whether a girl is out of his league, the answer is always "no, bro. She's mid."

And you never, under any circumstances, sleep with his girl.

…Actually, scratch that last one.

Itachi hooks Shisui's arm over his shoulder and hauls him upright, though he's barely standing himself and the added weight wrings a groan out of him that he'd deny under oath. Shisui laughs, then immediately groans too when his ribs remind him of his place.

"I should've hit you harder," Itachi scowls.

Hell yeah. Brotherhood.

Shisui grins. He'd reply with a witty comeback, but his mind is already on you.

Is Spark home yet?

He hopes Sasuke fed you. You get insufferable when you're hungry.

He also hopes you don't see him before he's had a chance to wash the blood off his face.

"Dibs on the bathroom," Shisui announces.

"You don't get to call dibs when you can't even pull your own pants down."

"You say that like you didn't enjoy it."

Itachi yanks Shisui's bad arm.

"Ahhh! Fuck! Okay, OKAY!"

Message received.

Celebratory ch. 100: That Beach Episode.

Uhh… Why am I running?

Your lungs feel like they could be collapsing any moment, but the hand gripping yours hasn't slowed down at all.

"We're late," the person attached to the hand says, completely calm and unbothered, despite also having ran what feels like a marathon. It's a vast contrast to what feels like a near-death experience for you.

"And when… were you ever… concerned about being late?" you ask in between desperate breaths. "Also, what are we late for, exactly?!"

"Maa… I don't know actually." His eye crinkles.

You groan.

I could be kissing Itachi right now. I could be reading Starlight for the 69th time. Lord Kaname was just about to sheathe his cursed blade into Yuki-chan's forbidden cavern and I LEFT HIM THERE.

At least he's hot. Wait. Why does he smell kinda like dog.

The Clyde to your involuntary Bonnie turns left, and you yelp as you're jerked after him. Rude! You almost trip over, and before you can whine about it, his hand releases yours and he ducks in front of you.

"Get on top of me."

Don't mind if I do, handsome fox.

You let out a sigh of what is strictly relief and absolutely not pleasure from maladaptive daydreaming, and climb onto Kakashi's back, wrapping your arms around his neck. He hooks his gloved hands under your thighs and launches forward so fast that you nearly lose grip and fly backward. And when he lands on the nearest rooftop, you fall forward, face planting into his glorious, silver hair.

Soft.

Unreasonably, offensively soft.

Kakashi owns one sad bar of soap. You've seen it in his bathroom. One bar for everything. You're pretty sure it's the same brand Shisui gets in his mission packs. Though Shisui would never be caught dead using them. He uses your expensive one. Because he, quote, "misses you too much when you're not around and your shampoo smells like you." Which is hella manipulative.

But apparently, Kakashi has one bar and the hair of a manga love interest. Effortlessly perfect at everything despite the tragic backstory, while you have to sit with oil in your hair like a marinating chicken breast once a week to achieve half the result.

THUMP. Another rooftop. Your internal monologue gets knocked out of you along with most of your remaining oxygen.

"I'm gonna be sick," you whine into the back of Kakashi's head.

"Hold me tighter," he replies. He turns his head back, not enough to meet your eyes, but enough for his cheek to press against yours. You shamelessly nuzzle into it.

Not every day a girl gets the damsel-in-distress experience without the mortal peril.

The next thing you know, tears are pulled from the corners of your eyes by cold wind as Konoha blurs beneath you. Market stalls, laundry lines, even what appears to be a ginger cat sitting on a fence. They all blur.

After what feels like a whole ten minutes of torture, the two of you land hard onto the ground. With a yelp, you're tossed forward again from the momentum. When Kakashi lets you off, your legs feel like noodles and you sway from side to side. Not wanting you to fall on your face and die, Kakashi catches you and lifts you bridal style without question.

"Someone needs more discipline," he drawls, one eye holding more affection than some people with two.

You want to say something clever back. Something devastating. But your brain is still catching up with the rest of your body, so what comes out is: "Mmhfgh."

Eloquent as always.

He sets you down in front of a gate you've never seen before, in a part of Konoha that was definitely not here yesterday. Whatever's on the other side is loud. You hear water, music, people yelling, and holy shit, is that an explosion?!!

You look at Kakashi's hands, which are already in his pockets.

"Go on," he encourages.

You startle. "You're not coming with me?"

Kakashi steps closer and places his hands on your shoulders. "I'll come find you later," he assures you. He leans down until his face is next to yours, and whispers softly into your ear, "Don't forget about me while I'm gone."

Anonymous asked:

the concept of Kakashi getting jumped by 4 uchihas when he makes a move to Shikyo....

ahh this ask is from Feb 15 and for the longest time, I didn't know how to find where the asks are once they're lost in notifications. x_x Finally can reply to this! How generous of you to think it's only four! xD Kakashi's got the whole clan against him, but he really only needs to worry about one. And she doesn't even need a sharingan. 😈

"Hm… curious?"

Fun fact: exactly one year ago today, I posted the first chapter of The Version That Saved You, a slow burn reverse harem fic, and today I posted the 100th chapter. :D The chapter opens with Kakashi, so ofc I had to post this artwork of him too for the occasion!

✧˖° Summary: You're Shisui's ward. Itachi's student. Basically, off limits. Kakashi knows this. He also knows your training schedule, your route home, and the fact that you never close your curtains. Pakkun calls it creepy. Kakashi calls it protective. Either way, someone has to make a move, and it's not going to be him. Good thing his ninken has no such reservations.

Life Isn't Icha Icha ch. 3: How to Train Your Kakashi “A true tactician studies every entrance and exit… because the difference between an unforgettable night and an awkward apology is knowing exactly where and when you’re allowed to slip in.”

-POOF-

"KAKASHI?!"

He doesn't panic, at least not on the outside. He lowers his hand from his hair, nice and easy, then gives you that signature eye crinkle and a lazy wave. "Hey, you."

Pakkun vanishes without a word, and Kakashi is left standing in a clearing with absolutely no context.

What the hell just happened?

He doesn't get the chance to figure it out.

"HEY???" Your eyes are wide and your voice cracks as you scream it out. You're staring at the spot where Pakkun used to be, then at Kakashi, then back at the spot. "Was that—" You point at the empty space. "Was that a ninken?!"

Kakashi blinks. "Oh. Yeah. That was Pakkun."

You visibly malfunction. Your hands fly up to your head, fingers gripping your hair as you start pacing in a tight circle, muttering “oh no” under your breath repeatedly at increasing speeds.

So Pakkun never told her he could talk. Which means she thought he was a stray. Which means she probably...

Kakashi sighs internally.

"So.” He bites back a smile. “What did you do to my dog?"
