Hello. I am a Bogor-Indonesia based photography enthusiast and mainly capturing: building, landmark, animals, nature, plants, culture, religion, mostly outdoor scenes and sometimes indoor stuffs.

Tumblr is not the only platform where I show my works. I've got other platforms to show my works (not only photography! lol), so this is where you can find me other than Tumblr: here.

See you there ♡

Ghost Nets: Awakening the Drifting Giants by Erub Arts (Part 2).

Showcasing 18 aquatic species shaped hand-woven sculptures made of ghost nets (discarded fishing nets waste) by Erub Arts; Eruban artist collective from Danley Island, Torres Strait. The exhibition is also a collaboration between Australian Embassy Indonesia and Erub Arts.

Through their artworks and large-scale installations from ghost nets, Erub Arts sends awareness regarding not only environmental issues across the Torres Strait, but also marine conservation efforts.

Candra Naya Cultural Heritage Building, Jakarta.

Interesting facts:

  1. It was built in 18th century (1807) and became a home to the Khouw family of Tamboen, the last Majoor der Chinezen (major of the Chinese) of Batavia (1910 - 1942).
  2. After long dispute and compromise between many parties, the main building of Candra Naya was restored and became part of Green Central City superblock in February 2012.
