The Fire-Haired Snape
Part 2- Series Masterlist
TW: None
Amber walked down the steps to the Hufflepuff table as they clapped and cheered for the new member of their house, two older girls patting her on the back as she took her seat, giving the other students a shy smile before looking down at her lap.
Soon after she was sorted, Ron was called up to the platform to put on the Sorting Hat. He was sorted into Gryffindor rather quickly, something about being a Weasley.
After Ron it was Harry. Amber turned her head a few moments after his name was called, seeing the Sorting had mumbling still, almost having a difficult time in sorting him into a house. That was until it finally shouted "Gryffindor!"
The Gryffindor table behind Amber erupted into cheers and applause as The Harry Potter was sorted into their house. Harry smiled as he rose from the stool and stepped down the platform, making his way over to the Gryffindor table, standing next to Ron. Ron patted him on the back and sat back down while Hermione sat across from the two with a smile on her face.
An older boy with red hair like Ron reached over to shake Harry's hand in welcome before he took a seat across from a pair of twins that were on the right of Ron, one of them reaching out to also shake Harry's hand. Once he let go Harry turned towards the professors table to see Dumbledore already looking at him. The older wizard grabbed her golden goblet and raised it slightly as Harry's smile slowly dropped.
The boy shook it off and sat down next to Ron, attempting to make himself at home within the house, a smile reappearing on his face. Amber turned around in her seat, her head curls falling off her right shoulder as she did, reaching over to tap Harry's shoulder to get his attention, a small polite smile on her lips.
The boy turned to look over his shoulder in confusion before realizing it was just Amber who had tapped his shoulder. He had only remembered that the girl hadn't spoken much on the train like him. "Congratulations, Harry."
"Oh.." The boy paused for a moment before he smiled at her, the bottom of his eyes crinkling slightly. "Thank you, Amber. You too." The girl turned back around, letting out a small gasp as someone suddenly plopped down next to her. It was another girl with slightly darker red hair than hers. The girls hair was straight and reached a little past her shoulders with bangs covering her forehead and a big smile on her face.
"Hello! I'm Susan Bones!" She introduced herself, holding out her hand to Amber. "Hello...I'm Amber." She took Susan's hand and gave it a small shake, the smile on her face growing a bit. She may have just made another friend.
-------------------
The Sorting Ceremony has ended and every first year was sorted into their houses. Professor McGonagall had taken her seat at the long table with the other professors next to Dumbledore as Head Mistress.
Amber and Susan giggled as they joked around with a few other first years that were sorted into Hufflepuff. Amber couldn't feel the weight of her father's stare in the midst of laughter, but she could see it if she looked a little to the right.
After everyone had settled and had gotten the chance to talk and introduce themselves, Professor McGonagall tapped her golden spoon on her clear glass cup with a golden rim and the Hogwarts emblem on the front. "Your attention please." She called over the students' voices. As she sat her spoon back down, Dumbledore set his hands on the table and rose from his seat to stand up. "Let the feast begin." He announced into the air before food appeared along all the middle of all the tables from top to bottom, food filling up on the students plates.
Amber and the first years are in awe at all the delicious food that had appeared, though some more shocked than others. Amber giggled at Susan's reaction before taking a bite of some mashed potatoes on her plate. "I love magic!" Susan said with a grin before digging into her own food and adding a little more to her plate for variety.
Students turned away from their food to look at the walls and floors as the school's poltergeists had begun to make their way into the Great Hall as they do every year for the first day of school to welcome the new first years.
As Amber was about to take a bite on her bread roll, a familiar poltergeist had popped up in the middle of the table in front of her, startling the girl and making her drop her bread roll back onto the plate as she flinched back, Susan's and the other first years yelling with her in surprise. "Peeves!" She whined in annoyance. She never liked the poltergeist, he was noisy. Too noisy, even for an eleven year old like her that could easily yap her father's ear off if she felt like it.
"If it isn't little red, making new little friends!" The poltergeist taunted and laughed. "That was impossible, being a Snape and all!" He giggled before disappearing back under the table. Presumably to torture other students.
Amber huffed with a small pout, her brows furrowed in annoyance as she began to stab at her food once again. "That doesn't even rhyme." She mumbled under her breath. "You're a Snape?!" Amber flinched again, swinging around to find Susan gaping at her with three other students. "Like.." She lowered her voice to a whisper, peering over her right shoulder towards the professors table where Severus Snape was talking to Professor Quirrell. "Professor Snape!?" She whisper-yelled, turning back to look at Amber.
Amber slowly nodded her head, clearly not wanting any more questions to be asked. She wasn't ashamed of her father, not at all. It was more so she didn't want others to think she wouldn't work as hard for her grades because of one of the teachers being her parent. "Mhm." She hummed in response, picking apart her bread roll and bringing a piece up to her mouth. She moved her gaze to the Professors table like Susan had, but got distracted as a piece of hair fell over her left eye.
Amber brought her right hand up to move her hair behind her ear, but as she did the hair moved within her eyesight and it was no longer dark teal. It was red like the rest of her hair. She held it in front of her eyes confused, no longer paying attention to her father as she wondered how her hair was just..different.
But she didn't get to wonder long as Sir Nicholas-or Nearly-Headless Nick moved from the Gryffindor table to the Hufflepuff table. "Well hello there, Miss Snape. How lovely to see you again." He greeted Amber politely, having not seen the girl for a year or two. The girl turned her head to look behind her, her confusion now turned into recognition as she smiled up at the poltergeist. "Hello, Sir Nicholas."
"Well, what happened to the touch of green? You've had it since you were a babe if I have my head on straight." He pointed to a spot in her curly hair where it used to be a dark teal, always framing the left side of her face if it wasn't pulled back into a ponytail. "Oh uh...maybe it just decided it was too shy today." Amber attempted to joke. It made her giggle a bit, and made Sir Nicholas smile, but the look of confusion hadn't left. "Ah, well let me know when it decides to say hello again." He smiled at the young girl, turning to make his rounds around the tables with the other poltergeists, leaving the girl to be with her new friends, not realizing she's just as confused as he is.
-------------------
Once the feast ended the professors ordered the Head Boys and Girls of each house to lead the new first years to their Common Rooms. Hufflepuff and Slytherin walked by each other out of the Great Hall and to the left. Amber had her hands folded in front of her, fiddling with her fingers when they came up on a fork in the hallway, a snicker heard from behind her.
She turned around to see Draco Malfoy laughing at her as Pansy whispered something in his ear with a smug grin on her face, her eyes also on Amber. Amber's cheeks heated up in embarrassment, turning around to continue following the Head Girl with the other first years, her head now down turned to watch the floor instead as Slytherin split up to walk down a spiral staircase.
The Hufflepuff Head Girl guided the first-years down a hallway before taking them up a small set of stairs let lead to a down spiral of them with metal leaves and vines curling around the railing that guarded the drop next to the staircase.
"Now be careful walking down, if you walk too fast you could trip, so please watch your step and be mindful of the people next to you." The Head Girl called out over her shoulder, leading the first years down the staircase and down into another hallway, walking past a small wall of portraits.
"That there is the ticklish pear." She said, referring to the portrait of a fruit bowl with a green pear that wiggles slightly as though it didn't belong with the other fruits. "It leads to the kitchen which is off limits to students. It's where you'll find the house elves that make all our meals." She turned on her heel, causing the students to stop as she faced them. "But..it's nice to give them a thank you every once and a while." She winked before turning back around.
"Now we continue down this hall, and take a right here." Once they turned down the hall they were met with a cellar with barrels lined up against the wall. It smelt like rust and vinegar with a hint of dust. The Head Girl walked all the way down the hall, raising her right hand that was curled into a fist. "Hel-Ga Huff-le-Puff." She knocked with each syllable, a smile on her face as she turned back towards the students.
Susan glanced to Amber from beside her, looking at her in confusion. "Was that supposed to do anything? It's smells like dust down-" She was cut off by the barrel to the Head Girls right opening from the front, the boards folding in on each other as revealing a circle door the same size of the barrel. "Now, make sure to remember the knock, it's how we get into our common room. If you get it wrong you could be completely doused in vinegar, and I'm sure none of you want that." She chuckled, moving to open the door to the common room, waving her hand to tell the students to follow her.
"Well that explains the vinegar smell." Amber chuckled, following the others into the common room with Susan next to her. Once they crawled through the short wood lined brick tunnel that led out to a short stack of wooden stairs they both let out a gasp.
The common room was wide and spacious with orange and black striped couches and burnt orange leather arm chairs with a few padded yellow ones spread out nicely in the room so it wasn't too cramped. Coffee tables next to them with different types of flowers and plants along with dancing cacti in a few pots, beautiful stained class lamps next to the seating areas. The room has a green ambience to it from the sky lights on the ceiling that has vines growing off the window sills, different sized copper cauldrons and pots hanging from the ceilings with plants growing out of them and hanging over the sides.
Bookshelves lines the walls, either built in them or other shelves sat against them, both types filled with books and plants alike with a few other trinkets. Warming the room was a huge brick fireplace with a wooden structure built around it with badgers carved into it.
"Follow me to your rooms. Boys on bottom through that doorway, girls up the stairs with me." Leading out of the main room was a circle doorway that lead to the boys dorms, and surrounding it were two flights up stairs that led up to the girls dorms. Upstairs was also liked with plants, vines growing against the walls and plants in pots up on higher shelves. In front of the rooms was a balcony that had a view down to the boys quarters, the railing going into a full circle above it.
"Now go find your rooms, your names will be on the plaques next to the doors. And please try not to argue with your roommates tonight." The Head Girl instructed before leaning against the wooden railing, making are the students listening and went into the right rooms.
Amber and Susan were still astounded by the beautiful and huge common room, giggling as they made their way upstairs and looked for their rooms. Amber gasped as she found hers, grabbing Susan's hand in excitement. "We share a room!" The doors were wooden circles with a metal door handle with a flower engraved on it, around them were two yellow stained glass pains that curved with the door, brown stems with green leaves and yellow with blue flowers with black intricate outlines stained the beautiful glass, a round lamp in the center above the door diving the two glass pains.
The two red headed girls opened the door and pushed it open, being greeted with a room that has door beds with wooden bed frames, three wardrobes, and three dressers. The walls were lined with wood, boards climbing the ceiling to reach the middle were a circle ceiling light sat in the center of the room. By and a chair there was a full body mirror and a small washing area to wash your face and hands on a small while bowl with towels hung on the racks that were attached on each side of the small medal rack that held the bowl.
The bed sets are a pastel yellow color with orange and dark yellow flowers decorating them with matching pillowcases on the pillows, and the bedsheets a dusty peach pink. There were two desks in the room with four lamps, one next to each bed on the bedside tables provided with one or two drawers.
"It's so beautiful!" Susan exclaimed, immediately running over to the bed that had her luggage next to it. Amber walked further into the room while Susan immediately fell over onto her bed, taking everything in. She glanced around the room until she spotted her luggage and Mervini sitting on top of it by one of the four bed posts of her that had black curtains tied around them like they did with Susan's, while the other curtains were yellow.
"Mervini!" Amber ran over to her bed, dropping down onto her knees to rub the knuckle of her right potter finger under the American Barn Owls beak, causing the owl to close her eyes and lean into her touch with a squawk. "I missed you, pretty girl." Amber giggled.
After a few minutes the girls other two roommates had joined them and unpacked their stuff, settling down for the night before eventually going to bed.
For a while Amber had tossed and turned, not used to being so far from her father. She didn't really think of how it would be to sleep til now. She took a shaky inhale and tried to calm herself down, not wanting to be a crybaby that calls for her daddy every night just because she's not used to something new. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath in, then exhaled.
She moved to reach down by her bed into her bag that she hasn't fully unpacked yet, pulling out a light brown bunny stuffed animal that had a pink nose and black button eyes, and a white round tail. She hugged the stuffed animal to her chest and buried her face against it's head, letting her eyes fall closed as she eventually drifted off to sleep.

An eleven year old girl climbed up onto a wooden four-legged stool that sat in front of a bathroom sink with a mirror surrounded by wooden carvings resting against the wall. She carefully stood up to get a better view of her reflection as she attempted to brush through her tangled red curls with a plastic black brush.
The girl let out a small grunt when the brush ran through a particularly bad knot in her hair, pouting while looking into the mirror, seeing the brush sitting in her hair even when she lowered her arms. Half the side of her head was brushed and poofy while the other was still curled and tangled.
"Amber!" She heard her father call out from down the hallway of the small but cozy house filled with books and glass potion bottles put up high and organized in a messy yet neat manner.
Amber didn't want to call for help, determined to fix her hair herself rather than ask her father for help like she had to almost every morning. Instead of responding to the call of her name, she grabbed the brush again and tried to tug the hair brush out without ripping her hair either in half or out of her head.
"Amber." Her father said again as he reached the bathroom corridor, stepping into the doorway while fixing the dark purple cuffs of his button up mostly covered by his long black robe. Severus stopped in his tracks when saw his daughter staring at his reflection in the mirror with a pout and a brush stuck in her hair.
He let out a sigh and pulled out his wand, moving it to hover above her head "Crinus Munto." With a flick of the black wooden wand the girls hair went from a poofy mess to just...a mess, but with noticeable curls reaching her mid-back.
Amber caught the brush before it fell onto the floor, moving to set it on the counter as Severus put his wand away back into his robe and put his hands under Amber's arms where her own black robe hung off her slightly. He lifted her up and pushed the stool back with his foot, setting her back onto the tiled floor of the bathroom.
"...Thank you, daddy." Amber begrudgingly replied, taking a glance in the mirror to admire her bright red curls only for a moment. Severus let out a small hum in acknowledgement, putting his hand on the girls back to lead her out of the bathroom. "Now, it's about time we got going. Grab your wand and your things."
The girl made her way to her room, grabbing her large brown leather trunk and her wand. The wand was 11 1/2 inches made of Laurel wood and a Dragons Heartstring core, meaning it was just as loyal as her and as powerful a she could one day become.
She stopped by her dresser where her American Barn Owl Mervini sat on her wooden perch in her open golden cage. "At least I won't be alone on the train, huh." Amber reached out to gently scratch her nails against the side of the owl's face, letting out a small giggle when Mervini closed her eyes and tilted her head into the girl's hand.

Severus and Amber had arrived at the train station, walking through a brick wall between two train platforms that lead to platform 9 3/4. Amber looked at the red and black train and the crowd of witches and wizards in awe, her hazel eyes lighting up at the sight. The sound of her father clearing his throat broke through her trance, his hands moving to rest on her shoulders to turn her around.
Severus bent down to her level to get a proper look at her, moving his hands to smooth out her robe. "Be good." He said, his hands stopping to rest on Amber's biceps, giving them a small squeeze. "I will.." The realization of just how many people were around and the fact her father wouldn't be with her on the train ride started to set in, her hands beginning to tremble slightly.
Severus slid his hands down more to grab Amber's hands, holding them both in his bigger ones and looked at her hazel eyes. "Don't talk to strangers, don't run around. You stay in your cabin, understood?" He said in a stern voice, the furrow between his eyes softening slightly at the sight of hers eyes becoming glossy with tears.
"I understand." Amber said shakily, avoiding her father's eyes as her bottom like trembled and her eyes began to water. "It'll only be a few hours." Severus's voice softened as well, leaning down to press a kiss to Amber's forehead, pushing back the teal pieces of her hair, the teal turning into the same shade of red as her hair under his touch without the girl noticing. "Then I'll be back with you?" Amber sniffled, refusing to let snot roll down her nose as to not dirty her face or robes, wanting to be pretty for the ceremony.
"Then you'll be back in the same building as me. You'll be sleeping in a dorm, you know this." Severus reminded her, pressing one last quick kiss to her forehead as she sniffled again, pulling the girl into a short hug before he had to let her go. "Try and stick with Draco."
He lead Amber to the train, allowing her to step up onto the stairs and made sure she didn't drop any of her belongings on the small cart she had carrying Mervini, her trunk, and her small black backpack, watching her as she left his sight to go find her cabin.
——————————————————
Amber walked down the aisle of the train and through different train carts til she found her cabin, settling in on one of the dark teal seats out of four, setting her trunk up on the self above it with Mervini next to it and her backpack on top of the leather trunk.
"Oh, hello." A voice came from the door, causing the girl to turn her head with her hands still slightly reaching towards the rack above the seats before lowering them. She was met with the sight of a girl her age with frizzed light brown hair that reached past her shoulders with bangs resting over her forehead and in her uniform just like Amber. "I'm Hermione Granger." The girl said, setting her trunk up on the rack across from Amber's seat, turning back around to hold her hand out towards Amber.
"Oh..uh.." Amber turned around and shyly reached out to grab the girls hand to shake it. "I'm Amber-" The girl was cut off by a boy with short dark brown hair and chubby rosy cheeks stumbled into the cabin, making both the girls turn their heads.
"S-sorry.." The boy stuttered slightly, moving to put his own trunk on the rack above the seat next to Amber's before turning back towards the red head and brunette next to her. "Who are you?" Hermione asked the boy, brows slightly furrowed. "Neville Longbottom." Neville answered when a look of horror crossed his face, his eyes widening and brows furrowing with worry. He looked around his sides and patted the pockets of his robes and trousers, frantically looking around his feet. "My toad!"
Neville scrambled out of the cabin to look on the floors and walls, stepping back in a few moments later to do the same in the cabin. "I've lost my toad!" He said, raising his voice and octave higher than need be. "I can help you look for it." Amber offered, fiddling with her fingers in front of her waist as she looked at the worried boy. "I can too. We'll go ask around if anyone's seen him." Hermione grabbed hooked her right arm through Amber's left, leading her out of the cabin.
The girl walked on the right side of the cabin while Neville checked down the left, the three asking people if they've seen a stray toad. The girls wandered into another train cart with cabins past the tables with older students and found one with an open door, greeted with the sight of a brunette boy with round glasses over his green eyes and tape wrapped around the bridge of them, bangs covering his forehead and a red headed boy sat next to him with a rat on his lap and his wand held in his right hand when they both peaked in to look around the cabin for Neville's toad.
When no toad was found Hermione let out a sigh and look at the two boys, finding them looking back at both the girls who were hooked by the arms. "Have either of you seen a toad?" Amber asked just loud enough for the two to hear as if she was scared of them screaming if she spoke too loud. She didn't much like strangers. "A boy named Neville's lost one." Hermione explained, her left hand holding the side of the cabin door.
The two boys shook their heads, "No?" The redhead answered with squinted eyes, looking at the two like they were mad. Amber let out a small huff and turned her head to the left, peeking around Hermione to see if she could spot the toad anywhere or at least spot someone jump out of their seat and yell because of it.
Hermione's eyes lit up slightly when she looked at the red heads wand, her eyes flickering between the wand and the rat before looking back at the boy. "Oh." She said, leaning more into the cabin slightly, making Amber turn her attention back onto the boys herself, looking at them with curious hazel eyes. "Are you doing magic?" Hermione asked, "Let's see then." She challenged the red head, lifting her chin slightly.
He lifted his hand curled into a fist to his mouth, clearing his throat with his lips pressed together, brows furrowed in concentration when he lowered his hand, his gaze focusing back on the rat when he began to move his wand. Her moved it in a circular motion and flicked it as she said his 'spell' as if he didn't know what to do with it. "Sunshine, daisy's, butter mellow turn this stupid, fat rat yellow." He flicked his wand again but this time directly over the rat that was digging into a Bertie Bott's Every-Flavour Beans box, causing a spark of yellow to appear on the rat, startling it into dropping the cardboard box off the boys lap and onto the floor, leaving the rat the same color as before.
He looked over to the brunette with wide eyes and a shrug of his shoulders, not understanding why it didn't work, the brunette shrugging back. "I don't think that's a real spell." Amber said with a small laugh, bringing her right hand up to cover her mouth. "Even if it was, it's not very good, is it?" Hermione teased the boy with a grin once he turned to face the girls again just to turn back to the brunette to give a look neither of them could see with a tilt of his head.
"Of course, I've only tried a few simple ones myself." Hermione bragged without a harsh tone. "But they've all worked for me." She unhooked her arm from Amber's to pull her wand out of her robe, walking into the cabin to take a seat across from the brunette, Amber following to sit next to her and across from the red headed rat owner.
"For example.." Hermione started, pointing her wand at the brunette boy, the tip lined up with the bridge of his glasses. "Oculus Reparo." She recited, the tape around the boys glasses loosening and spinning around before fully disappearing and the rim along with his lenses becoming much cleaner and shinier than a second ago.
The boy stared at the center of his glasses in awe, taking them off to look at them, both the boys turning to look at each other is surprise before he put his glasses back on. "Holy cricket." Hermione suddenly said, finally getting a good look at the boy across from her. "You're Harry Potter!" She announced. Amber looked at the two in confusion, knowing who that is but not understanding how it was a big deal. She never did since her father didn't seem interested in such story, refusing to speak on it, so she hardly had interest in it if her father didn't.
"I'm Hermione Granger, and this is Amber." She gestured to the girl next to her that just gave the two an awkward smile. "And you are.." She asked, looking to the red head eating a piece of chocolate, half of it still in his mouth, stuffed in his cheek as he replied. "I'm Ron Weasley." Hermione pursed her lips and furrowed her brows at his lack of manners, Amber scrunching her nose slightly, but not wanting to be rude. "Pleasure.." The girls responded at the same time, both quite hesitant to say so.
Hermione linked her left arm with Amber's right, preparing to stand up. "You two better change into your robes." Hermione told the two boys, moving to stand from her seat with Amber. "We should be arriving soon." Amber said before she walked out of the cabin with Hermione to continue the search for Neville's toad. Hermione paused for a second, cussing Amber to jerk back slightly and turn around with her once Hermione peered back into the cabin, looking at Ron.
"You've got dirt on your nose, by the way. Did you know?" The girl informed him, lifting her free hand up to her face to scratch at the side of her nose to tell him where it was. "Just there." Making Ron rub at the side of his nose she told him it was on. She turned back around once more to walk down the aisle of the train car, causing Amber to let out a giggle.
——————————————————
An hour later the train had pulled up and stopped at Hogsmeade station, the sun already set and the sky pitch black expect for the stars out accompanied by the moon. Hermione, Amber, and Neville scrambled out of the cabin in excitement with the other students as a voice rang out from outside. "Right, then! First years, this way, please!"
"Come on now! First years, don't be shy!" The man hollered as prefects opened the doors of the train cars, allowing first years to pile out into the concrete platform. "Come on now. Hurry up. Come on!"
Hermione followed out behind Harry and Ron, Neville trailing behind the two girls as the other first years gathered up on the platform, being met with the sight of a big middle-aged man with long frizzy dark brown hair and a big dark brown beard, holding a lantern in his right hand. His brows furrowed and bushy with a big round nose. Hagrid! "Hello, Harry." He greeted the boy as he stepped up from with a smile on his face. "Hey, Hagrid!" Ron stopped in front of Hagrid, looking up slowly to take in the man's size in awe. "Woah!"
"And little Miss Snape!" Hagrid said with the same grin he gave Harry as he saw Amber next to Hermione, knowing that mess of red curls from anywhere. Had them since she was a toddler causing mischief around Hogwarts during the times Severus had no choice but to bring the girl with him to work and would have to have McGonagall or Dumbledore watch her. "Hi, Hagrid!" She replied with a grin of her own, her slightly crooked teeth appearing as her lips parted, happy to finally see someone she knew.
"Right, then. This way to the boats!" He lifted his left hand to wave behind him, gesturing for the kids to follow. "Come on now. Follow me." He turned around, expecting all the kids to follow with his lantern in hand, leading them to the docks.
At the docks there were a group of wooden boats with lanterns in the centers of them with rods to hang from.
Amber climbed into a boat with Hermione and three other students, not wanting to separate from the girl just yet as she was probably the only friend she's made so far.
The Hogwarts castle was huge with all the lights shining through the many-many windows in it, making it shine brightly in the dark of the night, casting a beautiful and cozy orange around the towers, creating a feeling of almost nostalgia.
The boats floated behind Hagrid's as he led them towards the castle grounds, the older kids following behind in their own boats with a separate professor.
Once the boats were docked, the first-years climbed out of the boats with a few getting help from friends. Amber and Hermione stepped out together, making sure neither of them lost balance before pulling out a kid named Seamus and helped him onto the dock.
——————————————————
It was a long walk to the castle from the docks, and an even bigger walk up the stairs towards the Great Hall. "I don't remember there being so many stairs." Amber huffed next to Hermione as they rounded another corner than lead to more stairs. "Remember?" Hermione asked the girl with a confused look on her face. "You've been to Hogwarts?"
"Well..only a few times as a child when my dad would bring me." Amber explained, her hands gripping the sides of her robe to run her thumbs over the fabric of it, not wanting to say too much like her father told her. "Who's your father?" Hermione turned her attention forward momentarily as she spoke, rounding another corner of stairs with Amber.
"I can't really-" Amber cut herself off when she saw Aunt- or rather Professor McGonagall standing at the top of the stairs, Hermione looking up in surprise as well, causing her questions to cease.
"Welcome to Hogwarts." She greeted the first-year students as they gathered up on the stairs. "Now," she clapped her hands together to hold them in front of her. "In a few moments, you will pass through these doors and join your classmates." She explained to the group. "But before you can take your seats, you must be sorted into your houses."
Hermione and Amber looked at each other with smiles on their faces, both already knowing what houses they wished to get into. Gryffindor. And Slytherin. If not Slytherin, Amber didn't know what she'd do. It's the house her father prepared her for her whole life. The two girls moved to hold hands in excitement, Hermione holding Amber's left and Amber gripping her right as they turned their attention back to McGonagall.
"They are Gryffindor," The house of the brave and the proud. "Hufflepuff," Loyal and just. "Ravenclaw," Wit and wisdom "and Slytherin." Ambitious and cunning. "Now, while you're here.." McGonagall paused for a moment to look over the students, almost observing them. "Your house will be like your family. Your triumphs will earn you points. Any rule-breaking, and you will lose points."
"At the end of the year, the house with the most points is awarded the house cup-" She was quickly cut off by Neville Longbottom who spotted his toad in front of her, quickly pushing through students to grab him. "Trevor!" He leaned down to pick up his toad, slowly looking up at the professor and gave an apologetic nod at her judging stare down at him "Sorry." He apologized, waking back to stand next to Hermione.
McGonagall couldn't help but suck in a small breath before resuming. "The Sorting Ceremony will begin momentarily." She nodded at the student before turning on her heel to finish preparing things in the Great Hall.
And almost immediately that silence was filled with a very familiar voice. "It's true, then." Causing students to look towards the voice that belonged to Draco Malfoy who stood between his friends. If you could call them that. "What they're saying in the train. Harry Potter has come to Hogwarts." First-years whispered amongst themselves at the reveal, but Amber and Hermione simply rolled their eyes knowing exactly what Malfoy was doing.
"This is Crabbe and Goyle." What exotic names... "And I'm Malfoy." Draco walked up to Harry with a smug look on his face, moving to stand on the step in front of him. "Draco Malfoy." Ron snickered from next to Harry, looking down at the ground and made Draco zero-in on him. "Think my name's funny, do you?" He sneered at Ron. "No need to ask you yours. Red hair and a hand-me-down robe? You must be a Weasley." He might as well have spat it out with how much emphasis he put on the name.
Draco turned back to Harry as if he wasn't glaring at the platinum blonde. "You'll soon find out that some wizarding families are better than others, Potter." Draco turned back to look at Ron with distaste. "You don't want to go making friends with the wrong sort." He looked back to Harry once again and held his right hand out form him to shake. "I can help you there."
Amber pulled away from Hermione with a huff, walking up a few steps to stand next to Ron and looked at Draco. "Quit it, Draco. He can make up his own mind." She snapped, long exhausted of Draco's sudden change of attitude, a stark difference from how he used to act.
Draco turned to sneer at the red headed girl, looking her up and down with his nose scrunched. "You're one to talk, Snape. You can't last a minute without your daddy around to hold your hand." He took a step closer to Amber but was stopped by Harry who moved to step slightly in front o

TW: Canon Death
A loud crash rang through the large house, footsteps stomping across the wooden floorboards of the downstairs floor followed by yelling, a shout, and silence.
Upstairs was a woman with long red hair and emerald, green eyes; a mother. She spoke soothing words to two one year old babes, one boy and one girl. The boy had chestnut brown hair, the spitting image of his father with his mother's eyes. The girl with flaming red curls and hazel eyes. Looks of her mother, eyes of her father.
The woman had tears rolling down her cheeks as she spoke to her children, reminding them of the love she held for the both of them. Behind her a man with pale skin and sunken cheeks with an almost flat nose walked in the room, wand raised as the woman spun around, shouting the same words he had previously downstairs. "Avada Kedavra!" The woman screamed before dropping down onto the floor between the two cribs that contained the crying babes, lying motionless.
The words were shouted again over the children's cries, the curse now directed at the two of them. But it bounced off with a flick, and a cry of despair rang from the man's throat as the spell sprang back at him, causing him to evaporate.
The silence of the house was non-existent as the boy and girl cried their little hearts out, whimpering and reaching for their mother through the wooden bars of their cribs with no success.
After minutes that felt like hours there was finally noise downstairs. Slow footsteps reached the bottom of the staircase before creeping up and down the hallway where a door rested wide open, the light in the room flooding out into the hallway. A man dressed in black robes with short black hair and a hooked nose entered the room, stopping for half a second by the door, not giving to the two crying children a single glance as he dropped to his knees next to their red-headed mother, moving to cradle her body against his as his own cries mingled with the children's.

The death of Lily and James Potter was a tragic one. After the incident it was known that only their son Harry Potter had lived through the incident, a scar on his forehead from where the curse had refused to strike him. While he was as rejoined to his aunt and uncle by Albus Dumbledore himself, the whereabouts of the girl was unknown.
The little red head had a streak of green in her hair on the right side of her face, presumably from the curse as well. The man with the hooked nose cradled the girl in his arms as she slept, not knowing what exactly to do with her. Her pale skin, red hair. She took after her mother.
The man moved his pale right hand to gently push the dark teal strand of hair out of the babes' face, causing her nose to scrunch up and brows furrow before ultimately relaxing again. "Oh, what to do with you." The man whispered to himself as he moved his hand to rest underneath the girls back once more to support her.
There are ways to write a white-coded reader and not be racist btw. And this is NOT me siding with the people writing this stuff, but the ones criticizing those people. STOP BEING RACIST. I don't care if you don't know if you're being racist, learn what you're doing wrong, and don't do it again. FOR EXAMPLE. I'm seeing people write settler readers for little Puma, and I'm seeing a lot of people criticizing fic writers for being racist, WHICH I AGREE WITH. Little Puma doesn't like settlers and possibly white people in general (I'm only on episode 3 of LHOTP) which is perfectly reasonable. I mean the show literally mentions the colonization and we literally see it when the hunters return because the main family built their home on their land and path back
Now, making a white coded reader for him isn't WRONG. Well...your reader shouldn't be white coded anyway 😭 your reader shouldn't really have a set race unless it's like a black!reader or native!reader or a POC because, and I'm stating what should be the obvious and common sense, they're oppressed and left out of media a LOT. The biggest issue comes in though when you guys make it seem like it would be such an easy relationship...no. Thats not how interracial couples work or how they worked. They were extremely difficult for both people and mostly if one person in the relationship was white because white people historically suck.
PUT IN THE WORK. PLEASE. I don't care if it's fiction, it's disrespectful because the book and show are based off of a real time in real life with real life situations and issues LIKE COLONIZATION. Yes, interracial couples existed without abuse, even between white people and native Americans, but it's so unrealistic to think it would be so easy for a person of color to be with a white person. It wasn't. Like at all. Especially when most known interracial couples were forced and was a power dynamic, like for example my great-great grandmother who was Native American and married to a white man and let me tell you it was NOT out of love or her choice.
Be realistic. Lean into the struggles, the hardships, the distrust, make the reader WORK FOR IT. LIKE....FOR A WHILE. Stop making it immediate attraction. It's not wrong to make it a possibility, people's views can change, BUT it is disrespectful to make it extremely possible and simple like it possibly could be today and even that's a reach. If you guys ignore how difficult and unrealistic interracial couples were between a person of color and a white person back then with genuine love behind it then you are being racist and ignorant. And remember, it's not "just fiction" it it's something that happened or does happen in real life.
Educate yourselves and make it realistic or don't white-coded your readers or make them a settler at all and leave the race ambiguous. It's so easy. Stop ignoring characters opinions and views on things just so you can put yourself in that situation. Like I like Little Puma, I think he's attractive, BUT I'm very hesitant to read fics of him because I feel bad and like I'm being disrespectful. Even if I'm not a racist idiot, I'm still white and feel like I'm invading a space I shouldn't, and honestly..that's probably right. Let's start using our brains again and remember a lot of fiction resembles real life, and should be handled correctly.
Does anyone have any Rick Sanchez x reader recommendations where the reader is around the same age as him?🥹 Don't get me wrong, I have no issues with older man-younger partner fics, I just would LOVE like an exes to lovers type story where the reader is Beth's mom, UGH THE POTENTIAL PLEASE. I have seen a fic like this before, but it's been discontinued, BUT I would like recs of the reader just being his age in general without this specific story,
I just think it would make such a good fic of the reader dying in his universe and he travels into the universe where he's with Morty and he sees her and finds out that her and her Rick broke up and he like died (I'm only a few episodes into Rick and Morty, I don't know shit yet, help) and he's just smitten with her and she's like "ew get away from me" but slowly starts liking him again AAAA PLEASE, I NEED TO START WRITING MY OWN SHIT BUT THIS HARRY POTTER OC INSERT FIC IS TAKING OVER MY LIFE. One day guys, one day I'll have ALL my fic idea written out🥹 I say as I'm literally planning to make a reader insert for game of fucking thrones. Why do I do this to myself
THERES NO ALYS RIVERS X FEM READER FAN FICTION?? NOO💔💔 I need aemonds wife!Reader to cheat on him with Alys and they slime him out PLEASE. Bonus points if reader is his sister and she fucking hates him cuz he's crazy and hates Alicent for marrying her to him 🥹....I'm probably gonna have to write this out myself 😔 I will not be watching season 3 in order to do so BOOO IT SUCKS. I hate that they actually made aemond x Alys a romantic couple as if he doesn't literally rape her in the books and kill her whole family. JUSTICE FOR MY GIRL ALYS. GET THAT BABY OUT OF HER #abortthatthang (I got spoilers) edit: I don't mean threesomes between Aemond x reader x Alys please don't recommend them to me
We need more readers with chronic illnesses 💔 as someone with asthma, scalp psoriasis, and RLS (restless leg syndrome) I YEARN for leg and scalp massages🥹 scratching my scalp after having it up for hours is HEAVEN. And I'm pissed I can't use scented shampoo without my scalp screaming at me all night. The little red spots I get on my body after showering SUCK. AND I CANT WORKOUT CUZ I CANT AFFORD A PRESCRIBED INHALER. I DONT HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE CUZ THATS TOO EXPENSIVE. $20 shampoo, $16 leg relaxer cream, and $500 FOR AN INHALER. FUCK.
Also for some reason I just went down the Rick Sanchez x reader rabbit hole.. I've only seen my cousin watch R&M, I've never actually watched it before😭 imagine him making you leg massagers with built in heating pads🥹 UGH GIVE ME. Make me a cute little inhaler Rick ❤️
Also why are prescribed inhalers literally $500...I almost DIED using a Walgreens inhaler 😭 okay not really, but it felt like it😔 it was like cold and made your throat feel empty but full and it burned to breathe and made it feel like all the air in your lungs was just gone...don't do what I did guys, especially if it's for a workout
So I just finished Veilguard, I do have a bit (a lot) to criticize...BUT I love my trans male rook x lucanis 🥹 He's not physically transitioned cuz we need more non transitioned trans rep that's not fetish content (also I'm bigender and don't plan to physically transition)
Bro is hypnotized. And IDC what anyone says, I loved the slow burn. It was a little boring, could've been better with longer scenes to kinda get more into Lucanis' character, but I like the headcanon he's Demi sexual (Idk if it's actually canon or not but I love it) and I'm also not the type to have sex immediately nor am I comfortable with the idea, so for me it was a nice change of pace, do wish we had more cutesy scenes or like an epilogue though
Part 2 of jealous!Sonar x reader WILL BE OUT THIS WEEKEND. SWEAR TO GOD. I am on my thanksgiving break til Monday and I will get that shit written down I promise 💔 it won't be a series, and it won't be exactly a part two but it'll be the blurb just extended and edited so the blurb I wrote will be in the fic and If you've read it already I'll probably mark down where it starts so you don't have to re read it all over again 😭
And part 2 of my Punch-up fic should be out tonight or tmr since it'll take shorter time to write, and both fics are gender neutral for anyone who wants to read them❤️❤️
Idk if I should start taking fics requests💔 I might in summer or for a short time over Christmas/semester break since I still got 4 more mid term tests to get done 😔
Girl stop LYING💔💔 YOU STILL HAVEN'T POSTED IT AND FORGOT YOU EVEN WROTE FANFICS😭
