Hope you like bugs!

I finally did something I've been wanting to do for a while and opened my own sticker shop!! You can find me on Redbubble now, and I plan on making sticker designs from time to time featuring all sorts of things—not just bugs, but scenecore, skulls, flowers, maybe even critters, or if I'm allowed to, pony stickers of course. I'll have to look into their fan art policy first.

I don't have the means or funds to make my own Etsy shop or custom storefront, so sadly, actual handmade stuff will not be coming out anytime soon. But I'd love if you guys ever feel like supporting me, please hop over to my Redbubble for some art stuff!

A pair of love bugs: Pinsir and Heracross mini heart cake for Valentine's Day! 🤎💙

I've been meaning to make these cuties since I saw their sappy ending on Pokémon Journeys, Goh's Pinsir is precious 🥹

Hooded tickspiders (Ricinulei) are an order of small, predatory arachnids that feed on other arthropods. Despite the name, they are neither true spiders nor ticks. First described from fossils, these arachnids were once thought to be extinct, but more than 70 living species have since been described worldwide.

They are notable for their hood (or cucullus) which can be raised and lowered over the head; when lowered, it covers the mouth and chelicerae entirely. Hooded tickspiders have no eyes, but do have light-sensitive areas of cuticle on their exoskeleton.

After receiving a spermatophore from a male, the female will carry a single fertilized egg under her hood until it hatches.

TODAY'S FACT IS

Did you know that Ellipsidion Australe is a vibrantly coloured roach found in much of coastal Australia? These are not one of the species that infest houses, instead they scurry along grasses and woody plants with no intention of going inside a building. These are diurnal roaches and are often seen basking in sunlight, not running from it like their cousins. A few observations on iNaturalist note the nymphs are at least somewhat carnivorous and eat psyllids.

TODAY'S FACT IS

Did you know that Peck's Skipper (Polites peckius) can be found across much of Canada and the US? This butterfly has a straw-coloured mark on their hind wing, helping to distinguish them from other members of their genus. The males also have a stigma mark (NOT STIGMATA) on their forewing. These butterflies will feed on clover, vetch, and thistles, all fairly common in the grassy environs of their habitat.
