Bronze, darling, your work is GORGEOUS and I have been trying to work on character drawing and while I know there is a lot of standard advice, is there anything you do that is maybe not just the same thing everyone says to do when you're trying to get better?

I mean, your expressions are so incredible and what I think I struggle with most, so any thoughts on what you do to make yours so cool and dynamic would be so appreciated.

thank you thank you, i try my best lol

tbh ive gotten a lot of complements on the expression in my art specifically and i fully think that's because im an emotional person and i reaalllyyyy try to get the feelings im feeling right into the characters even if that means totally breaking anatomy or the conventions of that characters' design. completely and totally the outlet for my feelings, if you see a character sobbing or screaming that's just me. wanting to sob and scream that loud.

in terms of improving, i dont have much tried and tested advice?? i just have what works for me. which includes killing the idea of a "singular art style" and just doing what i think looks cool (or trying to. i keep getting caught up in "what my style is" instead of doing what i want forever, which is what i SHOULD be doing). when i find an artstyle i like, i see what parts i can yoink for myself or just take a bit to doodle in that style for fun.

basically, dont pigeon hole yourself and do a bunch of stuff. push things past what you usually do and then wind back down to the parts you wanna keep

if anyone else has good advice that's worked for them feel free to comment/reblog/whatever you so choose

much appreciation for people who create ocs that are clearly derivative of The Character because even if the inspiration is clear, they had the self awareness that their headcanons had snowballed so far past character analysis into pure self indulgence that there was very little of source material left. and that’s beautiful. sometimes when you’re preoccupied playing touys it’s hard to take a step back and realize you’ve actually created something wonderful and new

Fan art for @bronzeplates's Say Grace bloodymary fic, featuring the ending scene of rearranging furniture Chapter 5. With both Grace's POV and Simon's POV. This ended up looking more Ava and Simon focused than bloodymary, haha.

I wanted to capture Simon's warped view of how he was fixated on Ava as if she was a piece of meat, and how he was seeing Grace not as another person but a second part of himself. Hence why Grace is colored red.

Alt versions underneath:

OUGH the COLORS……

GOD this is so cool

i am not immune to coltland twins au.

i probably wont do too much more with these two, i just wanted to do some doodles with them. i get it, i do. imagining these jackasses as twins is very fun. ESPECIALLY if you throw grace into the Fall Guy plot

Im not the person that asked about binding fanfics, but if you’re comfortable with it, I for SURE will bind Virtual Insanity at some point.

That being said, since i think you said at some point that Virtual Insanity is kind of like a long prologue, do you think it would be better if i separate it from Rearranging Furniture completely (like 2 separate books) or would it be best to keep them as one continuous book?

oh my god please please please please

also yeah i think virtual insanity should probably be its own book? rearranging furniture is turning out to be, like, triple the length of VI lol

Thoughts on printing and binding fanfictions for personal use?

that’s cool as fuck, props to anyone who can do that
