i just am immediately repulsed by a series of cutesy comics where a clearly transfemme character is being called a moid and its supposed to be this cute relationship like Shen i dont think yk what the fuck you are talking about.

You just have to wonder if Shen talked to a SINGLE trans woman about any of this shit. like he obviously knows what the term 'moid' means but doesn't know enough to know that putting the word in the mouth of a TWERF character is actually just, well that's literally a very real, very hateful group of people that work to get trans women killed so sorry. I don't find a cute little comic about one of them very fun or funny.

This is what happens when a person is subjected to an onslaught of transmisogyny-exempt people going on about "GNC men bein heckin valid!" like I don't blame shen as much as I blame his audience for constantly shouting down any and all trans women perspectives on his comics.

but I also know that shen is a grown ass adult and my patience wears thin like, you can't be out here drawing cutesy twerfs and 'femboys' dude like what the fuck.

I go a step further and I DO blame Shen more than his audience. His first comic teasing his own gender explicitly suggests he'd be getting more money to his patreon if he was a hot girl. You know. Trans women being famously better paid than cis men, right? The next few comics continued that path of queerbaiting (and yes, I call it queerbaiting, because I don't think you can escape the fact that this current period of Shen Comix started with a comic of him saying "haha, hey trans women, what if I'm actually a girl. Subscribe to my patreon.")

His next half-dozen comics had two man-in-a-dress jokes, one of which is also a transmisogynist joke about trap/femboy porn. And now he's making a cutesy comic about a TWERF befriending a femboy.

I just really don't think that the man grifting on trans women by saying "oop, maybe I'm a girl! Nope, here's a man-in-a-dress joke. Ooho, but what if..." is the eggy gender-ally on the cusp of coming out that a bunch of trans women on my dash seem to think he is.

I do think he may be doing it on purpose and this doesn’t take away the blame or harm that he is committing but I do think it’s also a desperate flailing to embrace tme transmisogyny in order to separate himself from trans women and force himself into a “feminine man”

him being a trans woman wouldn’t erase the harm he’s doing, but it would explain it

I found myself watching chocolate guy on facebook somehow and the reactions are so different
