I don't think I had ever beaten either fully. I played both games decades ago and I know in Cross I didn't get very far and in Trigger, I honestly don't remember where I left off.
In a lot of ways, I feel bad for Chrono Cross. Chrono Cross had infinitely large shoes to fill. There's just no way to follow up Chrono Trigger. It's literally a perfect video game.
Chrono Cross is ambitious and has a lot of good to it and even has Yasunori Mitsuda's greatest tracks (in my opinion anyways), but compared to Chrono Trigger? Man.
i wonder what was the impetus behind (sort of) retconning the bardock special from DBZ with dragon ball minus.
i think outside of showing us that gine exists, dragon ball minus is kind of buns. making bardock and gine both good parents actually and relatively good people with bardock even being a hero feels like it takes away from goku's story and what made him special.
goku already gets compared to superman enough.
like, wasnt the point of raditz was that how goku was raised supercedes the fact that he comes from a warlike people? that even his own brother is a piece of garbage. isn't that message dimmed down significantly by making bardock AND gine both good? like actually goku was always gonna be good cuz his parents are good. but then why is raditz the way he is? that makes raditz the outlier and not goku.
i think it just makes for a far less interesting background.
also, minus takes away bardock calling goku scum for having a power level of like 2 or something, which is objectively a really funny scene.
Genuinely surprised to see this from Jamie p and super glad as well. I feel like it's become such a pattern of seeing white queer creators casually say some racist shit or something to come out and then never properly apologize.
So seeing Jamie Paige be outright "No fuck y'all stupid racist white teens, she'd rather stop making music catering to you than let you make a fool of her art" is incredibly refreshing and makes me glad that to be a fan of hers and feel both seen and comfortably safe knowing that for once someone has the decency not to be a racist piece of shit!
Also go listen to Slayr right now! I remember hearing a couple of his songs before, and liking all of them, and this one is no different. Honestly I hope we get to see more hip-hop sampling and remixes of vocaloid music because its so so cool and wish it was done more often.

A bit more self explanatory, but I'm glad he's confident to state it for the people in the back that Vocaloid isn't just a white people thing. It's a bit bittersweet to me in a sense that a lot of black creators online feel the need to hide themselves, but I definitely understand (I'm guilty of this sometime too the way Tumblr acts sometimes) but I'm glad to see that people are being more openly anti racist for once and I hope this trend doesn't stop.
Also I know it's already his most popular song, but it is such a banger too, go listen to this and the rest of his vocaloid music too!

I'm sorry to the like half of this site's political userbase but sooner rather than later you're going to have to step away from tv shows, fanfics, fiction and flawed instinct as sources for a theoretical basis. You can't properly talk about, say, the Cuban revolution without first understanding the ideological and practical context that informed the decisions of the communist party of Cuba (that means reading Marx, Lenin, a communist work on colonialism such as Eduardo Galeno's Open Veins, historiography and statistics on the events preceding and succeeding the revolution that isn't written with ink and paper paid for by the CIA). The Hunger Games, Les Mis and Hamilton aren't substitutes because 1: they aren't real and anything can happen in fiction 2: they haven't influenced any real life revolutionary movements and 3: they are literary works made for enjoyment, not a political analysis.
I know the "kindness is revolutionary" pseudopunk eat the rich one big union type of person thinks pure political theory is elitist and/or boring because why engage with the source material yourself when Abigail Thorn, Jacob Geller and Vaush are right there to tell you what they thought of the source material (which is still political theory in most cases, unless it isn't, but how would you be able to tell?) so you can absorb it like a baby bird unable to chew their own food. Nobody who has both read the theory and applied it irl is ever going to take you seriously if all you can do is regurgitate what your vaguely progressive history or social studies high school teacher told you about decolonization.
I don't usually post fundraising type stuff here, but Little Miss Flint, who does a lot of community fundraising work in Flint, Michigan, runs an annual school supply drive to get kids in her community outfitted with everything they need for back-to-school, from clothes to school supplies and everything.
Her storage unit was just robbed and vandalized, and they lost almost everything, right before the back-to-school rush. So they're starting from scratch, with less than two weeks to go.
Flint is one of the poorest cities in the US and a lot of these kids depend on the clothes and supplies they receive through programs like these.

immediately one of the most charming looking games ever. and the characters are immediately fun and likable. even chrono, who doesnt really speak, still emotes in a way where he has a personality, something that was SORELY missing out of serge in chrono chross.
and god, the combination of akira toriyama's art and yasunori mitsuda's music...just unstoppable.

Prichard Colon has passed away.
Colon was a former pro boxer who lost his career after a blow to the back of the head in 2015 in a fight resulting in him suffering a brain hemorrhage. That put him in a coma for 7 months. When he woke up, he was left in a vegetative state without the ability to speak.
I'm a little upset that they replaced Mo Tian 💔 But at least Mo Yuan seems like a really strong and badass character, and he's hot too 👀👀
