Some sneak peaks behind some storyboard panels for my next project! It’ll come out before the end of August aka around the time I start school BUT what’s a better distraction from that than working on a project!! This project is a @showbiz-and-souls project if you couldn’t already tell! Very excited and nervous to share progress over this project cuz it’ll be using everything I’ve learned so far😭
Also I will start posting sketches/animatics/art of the rewrite of TSAMS my friend and I have been planning! We hope to make a blog for it soon but who knows we’re still on the writing stage. But if you’re interested in that I’m glad!

So as we can see in the flashback Alice does NOT have horns!
My theory is that she rebelled against her mother's wishes and angelic duty!
Take a quick look at her expression, it looks like she's yearning for something, something she knows she can't have (maybe its singing maybe it's chalice 👀). She's been singing long enough for Chalice to be a huge fan (best girlfriend trust) and to know that she can simply find her by listening for her voice! And she looks so peaceful humming too
"her plans leave no room for dreams hm?" Alice does want to sing! I may be reading too much into it but it might even be her dream to perform! Plus well she told Bendy that is was her turn in the spotlight if that's any proof that she does actually enjoy it. She's held back by her responsibilities as an angel and her mother. But there's always going to be a breaking point when you're constantly trying to play as the perfect responsible daughter.
I think that she might've gotten so sick and tired of being the perfect little angel and carrying out her mom's expectations while repressing her OWN DESIRES that at some breaking point, she rebelled. Rebelled in a way where she was cast out and as a result her wings got taken away
ANDDDD!!!!! I also think this is why she's such a great actor! When acting you have to FEEL like your character. Like you're not you! If you're constantly repressing your own interest and desire for SOMEONE ELSE'S doesn't it also feel like that?

So if her horns WEREN'T an outcome of her being cast out, where'd she get them? Well I did mention before that I think the Darling Duo are working for the Devil! Specifically as Debt Collectors! (Linked the post if y'all wanna check that out) So it could have been from that. Alternatively speaking maybe it was also one of the punishments for her actions. An angel-- one of the most beloved and gentlest depicted beings now wearing the horns of a devil-- one of the most feared and aggressive beings. How unbecoming no?

Losing one's home, one's life, one's mother. That's devastating. That's traumatizing. Which is why I think she's actually a bit of bitch (for lack of better terms I am so sorry my dear angel I love you so much and that is completely on me I'm experiencing SEVERE skill issue rn💔) in the sense that she's sassy and knows exactly who she is and will NOT let anyone get in her way or think any less of her. Because she's sacrificed such a fundamental part of her to even begin to reach for her dream. God forbid anyone tries to take that away.
If my theory is correct then she was cast out DESPITE her loyalty and diligence to her duty and mother. She has every right to be salty!
Oh and here's the panels that made me think she's a Sass queen in the first place even before the update
She's wastes no time in reminding Bendy that it's HER TURN tonight. (Love that for her) And that expression in the second panel? That is disgust. Disgust mixed with hate and you can't tell me otherwise. Like someone looking at something they deem "lower than them" (I am ofc willing to accept that I could be completely wrong)

Chalice is the only person (afaik) who continuously supports Alice and her singing! Her dieing must've been absolutely devastating to say the least. If she was her only real friend then she was one of the only things supporting her!

That is a GENUINE expression. And mind you she's best one at acting! (I think this was answered in an ask? I forgot) She looks distraught, like she cant properly process what's happening in front of her. Like she cant believe she's seeing Chalice at this very moment!

I used to be unlabeled and always wanted to see other unlabeled characters in media, seeing an au version of my favorite character be unlabeled really makes me happy especially so unlabeled people can the representation I wanted. Personally im not unlabeled, and i know for some the way they treat that label is different than others. So im glad you guys can find comfort in it. Its okay to not know the specifics on your identity, its okay to not want to worry about it, of be okay with just keeping it simple for the sake of yourself. You are what you are!
