I just need to gush about Unend and Third Person for a second. They are using audio to tell a story, yes, but they are able to deliver something so much more potent than that. They're capturing a FEELING (or many hundreds of feelings) and surrounding you with it and making you feel it to your very core. What it feels like to face your death with certainty, desolation, pure oblivion, and the tiniest hope for others but not yourself. To face mystery and darkness with certainty, with a profound reverence to cosmic cycles you can never control but only participate in. To feel like yourself despite a lifetime of doubting it, avoiding it, or having it denied to you. To be surrounded by a community of people that love you and each other and the place they live with ease and gusto. Third Person distills these feelings and turns them into sound waves and puts them out in the world for us to hear and I just have to say thank you!!!!

I do actually really like that we end off on not knowing what name the former Granddaughter chose as a Mother. Because the point they make when being acknowledged as a Mother is that Realization is not a singular thing; it is not a single moment of crystal clear understanding that can be met, it's the process of being open to listening to the world and understanding that which is around you. Realization is everywhere and everywhen, carried alongside a person so long as they open themself to it.
