Hey sorry if I’m kinda weird I was supposed to be dead by now
I’m gonna do something meaningful with this pain like make a tumblr post of a song link and a gif that seemingly has nothing to do with the song
my tooth is half gone and insurance doesn't cover extraction and i don't have the money for an appointment, i am out of my adhd meds because i don't have money for an appointment, i haven't had therapy in 2 months because i don't have the money for an appointment, unemployment doesn't cover both rent and food so i am short on rent that's coming due soon, AND they want me to start repaying my student loans AND my wife's computer is literally falling apart and they need that for work
sorry
our damn air conditioner window unit stopped working
gotta get meds tomorrow and they'll be like. $80
got my meds, thank you! still have. all those other bills, a broken a/c, and a busted tooth
never take for granted the moments when you’re not nauseous
for the past 10 days ive done something creative (mostly drawing) for 30+ minutes each day. im actually really proud of myself for sticking with it!! ive had some rough days where i hated my work or wasn’t feeling motivated but i still made something each day and im slowly pushing myself to do art that scares me (which tbh creating at all tends to be, thanks to perfectionism, but im determined to overcome that!) and i really wanna try my best to stick to this plan, at least for a while :)
i wasn't socialized enough as a larva

Send me to Mars with party supplies before next august 5th
No guys you don’t understand.
The soil testing equipment on Curiosity makes a buzzing noise and the pitch of the noise changes depending on what part of an experiment Curiosity is performing, this is the way Curiosity sings to itself.
So some of the finest minds currently alive decided to take incredibly expensive important scientific equipment and mess with it until they worked out how to move in just the right way to sing Happy Birthday, then someone made a cake on Curiosity’s birthday and took it into Mission control so that a room full of brilliant scientists and engineers could throw a birthday party for a non-autonomous robot 225 million kilometres away and listen to it sing the first ever song sung on Mars*, which was Happy Birthday.
This isn’t a sad story, this a happy story about the ridiculousness of humans and the way we love things. We built a little robot and called it Curiosity and flung it into the star to go and explore places we can’t get to because it’s name is in our nature and then just because we could, we taught it how to sing.
That’s not sad, that’s awesome.
*this is different from the first song ever played on mars (Reach For The Stars by Will.I.Am) which happened the year before, singing is different from playing
This is humanity
Happy Birthday, Curiousity.
