For years it has only been 'Persephone in the Garden', then 'Devourer' and 'HYACINTHUS'.

After that i didn't think to check on Aidoneus only once every few years. So now i come late to then immediately hyperfixate on STYKS and more songs that tell the story of how Persephone came to the underworld.

This is day.. five! i think of me listening almost all the time, because the melodies and harmonies scratch my brain to nicely.

I know I’m late to this but thank you sooo much for listening to my music and all the kind words 😭 It means the entire world to me, and I’m so grateful you’ve been enjoying STYKS!

i have to tell you that i am not emotionally ready for the next drop, it is going to ruin me

hehehee……. :’))) for me, it was very bittersweet, so i hope you enjoy!!

Jesterbug did a fantastic job and i can’t wait to hear how this track makes everyone else feel

Anonymous asked:

Will we get instrumental versions of the songs? (I know you’re still releasing them lol no rush at all)

Yesss!! Once it’s all out, I’ll be releasing instrumentals, as well as versions with the backing vocals!!

I think the instrumentals will make it to Spotify, but the ones with backing vocals will just be on YouTube

Kronos/Rhea, Olympian Green, Kore, Demeter’s Threnody, and Ksenerosa have made their way onto my writing playlist 😭😭😭 you have heavily inspired a lot of the themes in my novel

omg your novel??!?!! that’s sooo cool AAAA 😭😭 thank you so much, that’s makes me so happy to hear!!

i’m just curious, what is ksenerosa about and how did it get it’s name? it sounds SOSOSO good and i would love to know the story behind it!

Ξενέρωσα (ksenerosa) — “This term refers to the effort of stopping a feeling of interest or feeling excited about something or someone. It does not mean a gradual loss of interest or enthusiasm, it comes as a result of a sudden or unexpected encounter, situation, etc. that causes a person to change a positive perspective or idea.” [Source of Quote]

Ksenerosa takes place after Persephone eats the pomegranate seeds which seal her fate. During this song, she finally realizes she’s been deceived by Hades and laments over this broken trust, her own naïveté, and her future entrapment. The rest of her eternal life has been completely determined by a man who was so desperate for company that he ignored the impact it would have on a girl who is not only much younger than him, but also his NIECE.

Hello!!!!

I had a question! Would your concept album be considered a musical?

If so- would you ever consider putting it on a stage? As in turning it into a stage musical?

If not- would you ever consider writing a musical?

Yes and no! As of right now, it’s just a concept album.

That said, I would love love love to have the opportunity to keep developing it and turn it into a musical for the stage! As of right now, the future of STYKS is uncertain, but I truly hope it can continue to grow after the album is fully out!

There are definitely other musicals / concept albums I have ideas for though!!

Thank you for breathing such raw emotion and life into these myths, dude. I can hear the call and response, and the play on chords between Kronos/Rhea and Ksenerosa. The way you flow your music together like they’re companion pieces that are interwoven with each other is absolutely brilliant. You just keep knocking it out of the park, and so does the very talented and wonderful Yara Liz. Thank you!!!

Oh my goodness, what a sweet message to receive. I am absolutely beyond grateful and honored, and it makes me so happy to hear folks like yourself are able to hear the parallels I’ve attempted to include! Thank you so so much!! It means the absolute world to me ❤️

Are you alright with people making animatics to your songs? :) I wanna know because Rebirth speaks to me and my ocs are begging for this song

Absolutely!!! Omg I would be honored :’0

I made an effort to be sure that copyright shouldn’t be an issue for anyone wanting to make or publish anything containing my music, so go right ahead! Lemme know if you face any issues!

Hi!

I was wondering what the title of your new song is supposed to represent, "Call of the River Cyane". I was also wondering how you came about choosing the title :]

Hi !! I’m so glad you asked!

In the original myth, Cyane was a Greek naiad (freshwater nymph) known for trying to stop Hades from abducting Persephone. After she failed, she dissolved and became the Ciane River, which flows into the Anapo River in southeastern Sicily. Her name comes from the Greek word kyanos, meaning "blue-green.”

In my version of the story, she isn’t present for Persephone’s departure, so this transformation occurs after she’s already left and been in the underworld for some time. I decided to use this song as a broader representation of the effects Persephone’s absence brought to the earth, which is why Hecate and the Sirens are mentioned within the lyrics as well : )))

But yeah!! That’s basically why I decided to give this song its title

The issue is, I have sooo many 😭 TOO many

I need to make a choice soon, but tbh I’m thinking of making an album or EP that’s a liiiiittle more personal and less mythology-based

I asked my friend who's been studying ancient greek in uni if your ancient greek was creepy/wet ancient greek and she said it was good/accurate ancient greek :) I appreciate your devotion to the grind (I did not doubt your ancient greek powers in the slightest but mostly was curious)

Oh wow, that’s amazing, thanks so much for getting that feedback from your friend!!

I am constantly trying to improve, and would hate to do wrong by these incredible ancient stories — especially because they mean so much to so many people. So thank you again to you and your friend!

P.S. don’t worry, even if there was doubt, a little skepticism is healthy haha! I hope my audience continues to hold me to a standard that eliminates inaccuracy and disrespect

This is regarding your recent post, talking about the comment you received. I don't believe anything drastic needs to be changed with your music. Overlapping and that "cluttered" feeling is a type of style in music. Depending on the tone, vibe, and the way you want the music to sound, that "cluttered" feeling makes sense. Many songs do it and it sounds good.

For example in the song "We Don't Talk About Bruno" from Encanto, they use that overlaying, "clutter" style to make it sound chaotic. You cannot hear every exact lyric that is going on in that song. Specific lines and vocals are increased in volume if they are trying to emphasize a specific part. I think that matches well with how you write your music.

Another example would be the song "Down Once More" from Phantom of the Opera. There is a time in that song when three voices are singing at once. You cannot make out every single lyric but that does not make the song bad. It's all circumstantial and opinion based.

So in my opinion, nothing needs to be changed. Its a style of music that not everyone likes. But that doesn't mean you haven't improved musically or that you're doing something wrong.

Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to write such detailed and thoughtful words of encouragement. I’ve really struggled with the sound quality of my music since beginning about 5 years ago, so it doesn’t take much for me to overthink my new stuff.

You provided some excellent examples and, even though I know there are always improvements to be made, I think you’re right in a lot of ways about it potentially just being a style that others may not gel with as well. Of course, I’d always love for people to be able to understand what’s being said in a song, but at the same time, I had to compromise that a bit to get the sound I was going for.

So thank you so much!! It really means a lot, and it was very kind of you to bother saying any of this at all ❤️
