Hot take: I don't think Luqing deserved to go bankrupt.

I mean Fanfan isn't even doing it out of revenge.

Like Luqing isn't the worst guy but he's actually not been good to Xiaofan for a good amount of time. And by that I mean the last 4 years at least.

Letting his ex come into their house and dump fanfan? Come back and go back to the sex 2 years later, and meanwhile your friends openly insult him and you barely defend him in front of him.

Then you don't communicate and honestly I wouldn't be mad if he just didn't communicate, it's just that whenever he spoke to Fanfan about their relationship, it also came with reminding fanfan that Luqing thought he was stupid(not explicitly for this case) and not worth much (very explicitly in this case).

Like okay fine you can't communicate your love but do you have to be cruel????

He did in fact give fanfan hope and then never explained anything even when he knew fanfan was hurting or heartbroken, I would get it if he didn't know but he did know. He knew every step of the way but he still never comforted fanfan, he was too comfortable with the thought that Fanfan had nowhere else to go.

In fact his friend actually communicated more of Luqing's love to Fanfan but even that idiot wrapped the loving words in like 20 layers of insults and reasons why he thought fanfan didn't really deserve the sincere love.

Do I still think this could have all been solved if these two actually communicated and weren't trapped in very annoying families and societal pressure? Yeah they could have.

Which is why they needed to be freed and that's Xiaofan went for, he knew Luqing would always haunt his heart, so making Luqing go bankrupt( well just lose some money, he knew they wouldn't go bankrupt just like that) was more about doing the one thing that would make sure Luqing never forgot him.

I don't think Luqing is a terrible guy, but I also think he made fanfan suffer a lot without any comfort.

Yes others also made fanfan suffer but that didn't hurt because Fanfan never expected them to be different and they didn't even try to be different, Luqing did, he did things lovingly, hinting at stability and then pulled the rug from under fanfan.

Yknow i don't even actually consider this a revenge. It actually reads a lot more like a last ditch effort to leave with the last bit of heart he can manage, he knows he's breaking and anymore and he wouldn't be able to take it, so this isn't to get back at Luqing but to get back his autonomy, he hopes he can still be with Luqing but he's not willing to sacrifice his own needs for it anymore and I somehow think that's more beautiful.

It is funny that the first apology to Fanfan came from Bei Luxing even if she wasn't sober or actually just desperate to keep him.

I like that it at least came.

Also i wonder if that speech she gave about looking down on him just to make sure he doesn't look down on her and leave her, is what gave him the final push.

Because it's what everyone does to him.

They constantly downplay his achievements, his contributions and even his presence and it's meant to keep him "in his place" so he doesn't realise how good he is and tries to escape.

I know Bei Luqing has some supposed plan to take fanfan away with him, i wonder if that's why he got a fiance all of a sudden, to throw his mother off when he offers to leave the country with fanfan.

And doesn't want him to divorce Luxing because he will lose an excuse.

Either way I stand with what Xiaofan did.

Not only is kept as a dirty secret but he's humiliated everyday by every fucking one.

Burn the house down if it's the only way out of it.

The way I knew it was coming with the way Fanfan initiated and the cut off conversation between him and his brother.

So I was just evil laughing when Luqing lay shirtless in Fanfan, looking so happy and blissed out, like ohhhh you won't know what's gonna hit you babe.

I knew fanfan wanted a clean break so him hearing from Wenxi about Luqing and him being caught, and being forced to break up?

I thought he would utilise it.

Ahhh I feel so evil because technically still outing, but if anyone had the right to do it? It was Xiaofan.

The episode came and I knew it was going to happen and I had been all torn up about it because how do I feel about outing?

But also, DESERVED!!!!

Bei Luqing you fucking asshole, you can't have your cake and eat it too!

Do it again Fanfan! Ruin another one of his dumb future plans where he gets to play house while you are internally destroyed by collective pressure of people breaking you to mold you into something they can use.

Even Bei Luqing does it.

Me: awww maybe this time will be different and he will actually make fanfan realise he's important and wanted.

Luqing almost immediately after: fanfan don't think you are special.

I finished watching ep 4 of bittersweet love last night and it was so unnaturally sickening to get through i had to literally close the screen multiple times after the half way mile of the episode

I think the hate for xiao fan genuinely comes from the feeling of helplessness. Like the actor is so good, I feel that shit in my bones.

It was so upsetting I think I barely managed to complete the episode. Because I feel his pain and it's frustrating as fuckkkkk because I want better for him and he's the only one who can do that and I wanna protect because as soon as he tries to stand someone pushes him down again and now he doesn't even have Luqing to catch him rn.

And it would have been easier if Luqing had genuinely just been a lot more horrible but he's just enough of classist that he still seems good compared to everyone else.

Mind you I didn't have this trouble with in double helix when xiao chen was suffering or lu Feng was suffering. Like I felt bad.

But xiao fan just feels miserable and he's gotta stand up and it's not easy and that's why it makes me feel worse.

That's why I had to go begging for spoilers because I was so close to dropping it if it was just going to remain so painful throughout 😭

Today's episode was painful.... I want to shake fanfan but also damn how do you rise up in that environment when you are so dependent on everything but yourself....

He keeps trying to do something to get his footing and it never lasts.

Honey just take some money and start a restaurant at this point, you can be the cook or whatever and live out peacefully, these elites are fucking dicks!
