Six married men will be dropped on an island with one car and 3 kids each for six weeks.
Each kid will play two sports and either take music or dance classes.
There is no fast food.
Each man must take care of his 3 kids; keep his assigned house clean, correct all homework, and complete science projects, cook, do laundry, and pay a list of 'pretend' bills with not enough money.
In addition, each man will have to budget in money for groceries each week.
Each man must remember the birthdays of all their friends and relatives,
and send cards out on time.
Each man must also take each child to a doctor's appointment, a dentist appointment and a haircut appointment.
He must make one unscheduled and inconvenient visit per child to the Urgent Care.
He must also make cookies or cupcakes for a social function.
Each man will be responsible for decorating his own assigned house, planting flowers outside and keeping it presentable at all times.
The men will only have access to television when the kids are asleep and all chores are done.
The men must shave their legs, wear makeup daily, adorn himself with jewelry, wear uncomfortable yet stylish shoes, keep fingernails polished and eyebrows groomed.
During one of the six weeks, the men will have to endure severe abdominal cramps, back aches, and have extreme, unexplained mood swings but never once complain or slow down from other duties.
They will need to read a book with the children each night and in the morning, feed them, dress them, brush their teeth and comb their hair by 7:00 am.
A test will be given at the end of the six weeks, and each father will be required to know all of the following information: each child's birthday, height, weight, shoe size, clothes size and doctor's name. Also the child's weight at birth, length, time of birth, and length of labor, each child's favorite color, middle name, favorite snack, favorite song, favorite drink, favorite toy, biggest fear and what they want to be when they grow up.
The kids vote them off the island based on performance. The last man wins only if...he still has enough energy to be intimate with his spouse at a moment's notice.
If the last man does win, he can play the game over and over and over again for the next 18-25 years eventually earning the right to be called Mom!
Hey everyone that's still a friend of this live-journal!
I kinda just zonked out from this for a while - a long, long while! I didn't even remember my password! Opps.
Anyway - we are still in Lawton, OK - BUT we are moving to Ft. Lewis, WA in July! Whoo-hoo! So so so excited about that! Xander turned two in March and just has his first dentist appointment yesterday! Joshy is FOUR now and doing all kinds of four year old stuff. Lexie is in Kindergarden and is so bright, its scary! Jacob is in 1st grade and LOVES reading - he picked it up really fast and Tory and I can't spell anything around him anymore! We've succumbed to talking pig-latin to each other.
I so have to figure out this live-journal thing again and get re-aquatinted with everyone's pages again!
Well, I found a few min to slap some words down before putting kids to bed tonight.
Tory is still here, teaching BOLC (basic officer leadership course) ... at Ft Sill. Thankfully. He complains about it daily, but hell, he comes home so I don't care!
Still have all four kids. Their lives were spared when school began! Jacob is now in Kindergarden and Lexie in Pre-K. I stay home still with Josh and Xander - doing school online again this semester. Sigh.
Xander is now a bit over 5 months - and he just started rolling over! Has two teeth - we found those before his four month mark. At his four month check up - he was almost 18 lbs. He's my rolly polly baby. I can't keep the kids away from him.
My little sis just had her fourth baby (on my birthday!) ... he was about 4 weeks premature but everythings fine now. Her husband is about to leave for Iraq tomorrow, I do think. Again.
Okay - time is up. Kids are done now.
I really do hope everyone is doing well. I'll try to read some on your journals soon. Sigh again.
Hello all. I know several of you guys were asking about my sister's baby girl. She's 4, Lexie's age, and the doc found a heart murmur on her last doc visit that was for a bladder infection. They told her that she will probably end up having bladder surgery pretty soon. And then told her that there is a possibility of open heart surgery b/c of the type of murmur they found. My god! It was their FIRST visit about this heart issue and they told her that - and she, naturally, freaked the hell out! She is being sent to a heart specialist person to find out more info. If I was that doc, I don't think I woulda told my patient (which I just told about a very possible bladder surgery needed pretty soon) that her child might have to have open heart surgery, too! Just soo much to take at once.
Xander is about to have his two month check up next week!!! Shesh! Time goes fast!
We just got part of Tory's inheritance check for $9000 and have to buy 5 fligh tickets with it so we can GO to the funeral. We were going to drive (Which would have been about the same amount - but for a longer time and we would have been able to see a lot of the kids other family - my side and their father's side - as well as Tory's family)... but, THANK YOU ARMY, he can't take TWO extra days, they'll only give him the day before and the day after - but HAHA - the funeral falls on a Tuesday - so we are able to take the weekend! So there, ARMY guys! HA! Sucks b/c they kids were going to get to see their father - Anthony - which they haven't seen since - ummm... Nov 04. Yeah. So... we get to fly with three kids and a baby! Oh god help us! :) A note about that check - we were told about it and (I was extremely happy about it, but he wasn't so sure how he felt b/c he didn't want anything, but well, I wasn't going to let him say no to this!) anyway - they mailed the check to his work addy - they one they had to use for RED CROSS to reach him. Not good. Three weeks later, we just got it today! Thankfully!
Okay - I gatta run. Just a quick update. Have to get that dinner started.
Xander is 7 weeks old now! I finally figured out how to email pictures using my email acct - but I haven't mastered posting pic's on this thing yet! :(
I had my tubal done yesterday... and boy, am I sore! I'm still nursing baby Alex - and when we had to give him bottles, it broke my little ol heart! I was actually jealous of that damn thing! I have to pump once more before I can nurse him b/c of the med's they gave me.
This past 7 weeks has been way too crazy! We moved. The next day, had Alex. I managed to pull outta school with an A in each class. My husband's father passed away. My mom came to visit. My little sister found out her girl may have to have open heart surgery and/or bladder surgery. A good friend of our's is deploying this Thursday. And Alex is HUGE! Weighted in at 14 lbs on his six week mark! Chunky butt!
Tory just took the kids to school, so I can rest today. They'll be home tomorrow :( Tory was so great through the surgery. I didn't think it was going to make me so shaky on my feet though! I haven't experienced any regrets yet about doing it. I probably will start whining when Alexander is two though! Seems that's when I get pregnant again, when I have a two year old. I will have bought diapers for over 7 years straight when Alex is potty trained. THAT'S crazy! Some years, it was two kids I was buying for!
Anyway - I'm gonna go pass out while I still can.
I'll try to get caught up on everyone's journal - now that the baby's a bit older, and my school is out, I might have a chance!
We moved. We had a baby. I have major stuff do for school. My husband left 2 days after we get home from the hospital. He's in GA for the next few weeks. His mom calls him this morning and tells him that his dad passed away.
Tory said that before he left for GA - he was thinking about being a bran new dad (literally, for the first time!, not just a step daddy) ... and then he started thinking about his father. And had this really bad feeling.
Well. Alexander Drake was born on his Grandfather's birthday! March 20th. Tory's dad just turned 74. (YES, 74! Tory was the youngest child by him!)
Now, I am trying to figure out if Alex, Josh and I are going to be able to join Tory for the funeral in OR. Tory has to fly from Benning, GA back here to OK... for his class A's - then he/we have to fly to WA state where his mom and stepdad can meet us with a car to use to drive the 12 - 14 hr drive to OR where his side of the family are at.
If we do this, I'm going to leave Jacob and Lexie here with our good friends for a few days - either until we get back or until my mom flys in. Wow.
Wow... a quick update... (Too tired, no no no, exhausted to write more)
Alexander Drake Smith was born on Monday, March 20th at 3:26 p. They started inducing me at 9 am... yeah, labor and delivery was a total of 6 and a half hours!!! EEEEE!!! That part was nice.
Alex was 9 pounds and 10 oz!! Yes, yes - 9 lbs, 10 oz. Shesh. And was he FAT!!!! Jacob asked me on the phone after he saw the baby if Alex still had his neck rolls! :)
His length was 20 inc and his head 14 in.
He is nice and healthy. They held us over another day to watch for jaundice and his weight loss. He lost 6% in the 2 days we were there so we had to make a trip BACK to the clinic on Thursday, but he's gained some back... so he's doing great.
I'll go into more details about the labor and TORY - the new Daddy! - later this week. He's getting ready to leave tomorrow morning and ummm... he's NOT too happy about that. So, I'll have lots and lots of time to write while he's gone :(
Everything is great - he's a strong sucker - I'm having a hell of a time nursing him right now... extrememly painful, but I'm determined to hang in there.
Humm... this is (hopefully) my last post until Mr. Alex shows himself.
We got all moved in. Correction... we still have a few things at the other house - but that's okay since we still have that place till the end of May. Mostly, it's the kids toys and ummm... well, we can do without those for a while anyway.
The new house is working out nicely. We had a major MAJOR leak in Lexie and Alex's closet the day before we moved in. Yeah. The whole place (closet and some of their floor) as soaked. We called the rental agency lady - and well, she got right on it. It was about 6p and she got a maintanence man got there - they had to repair a busted pipe or spicket or something - which they did - the carpet guys took a while, but still came out late. They had to tear up the carpet and put blowers down ... sigh. So, when we moved in the next day, it was dry - but we still had to wait till almost 5p for them to come get their blower. UGH! The way the rental lady handled it, I think Tory's in love with Re/Max now! :) So nice.
I still have a lot to do before tomorrow. I've been packing all week, and now I have one day (which is almost gone!) to unpack everything! The kitchen is done, only need to put the dry food stuff in the pantry thing. I just did my closet stuff, still need to unpack my dresser stuff, and put away all of our bathroom stuff. Tory already did his. THEN, I have to do all the kids bedrooms. Thankfully, the closets are already done. So, basically, their dressers are all I'm worrying about now. Decorations and wall stuff can come a bit later. A lot bit later :)
I'm gonna call the hospital this evening and see if they forsee any problems with beds in the AM. I can't sleep at all, I keep thinking about this. SO, hopefully, me calling - I'll be able to sleep tonight, some anyway.
Wish me luck! I'll update about Baby as soon as, well, as soon as he gets here! :)
Man, oh Man. I feel like I have NO time left (which I don't - the UHaul is here at 7a tomorrow!) and I haven't done a damn thing! Which I know isn't true... but gosh... I still have so much to do. I just have to remember that not everything has to be out until May. So... I don't have to worry about cleaning this old place, just yet... and if there are a few things left to box - I (we) can always do that when Tory gets home, or as I feel up to it later. So... I just have to remember that. HARD!
We moved all the kitchen stuff, minus the food and fridge, this afternoon. We packed it, moved it over there in the van, and I unpacked it right then. Wow. I'm tired. Now, I just have to finish a work cited page for English - which normally isn't too hard, but she is requiring us to write a 100 -200 word thing about what the souce talks about. GRRRRRRRRRRR! So, I have three left to do. Well, I have to have a total of 5 - but I have more sources than 5 - but I think I'm just gonna do 5. Sigh.
I am going to call on Sunday night (L&D) to see how full they are - so I can get mentally prepared to either having a good chance of being admitted for induction, or I can get prepared to not go in Monday. Keep your fingers crossed everyone!!! I want this baby out!!! :)
