things to know before you go

This community is a place to get and share information, suggestions, etc on travel or relocation in general or to specific locations. Jump in with your questions or advice! Any kind of travel is up for discussion. Long trip? Short trip? Day trip? Road trip? Study, work, or volunteer abroad? Moving? Going all out, or pinching pennies? Whatever it is, go ahead and ask. Chances are someone will have an answer. Posts of advice or just general talk about your past travel experiences are also welcome.

The guidelines are simple:
- Be nice. Everyone else is.
- If you're asking people to recommend "cheap" options, it's a good idea to specify how much money you consider cheap.
- if you'd like to plug an LJ community or external web site that has something to do with travel, you're welcome to do so, but only once per site please!
