The dissertation situation has developed not necessarily to my advantage.
trans-ouroboros asked:
Saw your recent request for questions, so here's a doozy:
You are getting a third arm. Its fully opposable and functions just like the other two arms. It will be attached to your torso a bit below one of your already-present arms. You are going to have an odd number of arms now. So, which side do you pick? Do you have two left arms or two right arms?
transgender-dumpster-princess answered:
Before I answer this question I have follow up questions:
1. Does the new arm have handedness inherently? Or:
1.a does it inherit handedness from the side it’s on? Or:
1.b does it not have handedness at all?
2. Do I gain a whole extra shoulder?
3. Does the new arm inhibit movement?
In all cases I’m probably gonna put it on the right. I’m left handed and want to use that hand freely, and I sleep on my left side. I might change the answer depending on the answers, but I’m like 90%.
1. Does the new arm have handedness inherently?
Yes, it has handedness inherently.
2. Do I gain a whole extra shoulder?
No, sort of. You get a faux shoulder so the arm isn’t just sticking out of your torso and you have free range of motion. But the faux shoulder isn’t hard or have a cap, so its soft flesh like the rest of the arm.
3. Does the new arm inhibit movement?
Yes and no. It has weight so you’ll be naturally lopsided towards whichever side you pick. But your movement isn’t inhibited if you try and put attention into not leaning.

I hate the culture wars so much. I have to defend the most garbage nonsense. The Star Wars Sequels? Disney Marvel Shows? Werewolf Hetero Romance Novels? I don’t want to defend these because I genuinely think they are poorly made fiction. But the attackers are always the most vitriolic right-wingers who blame the issues with these media on ‘woke’ and 'DEI’ so now I have to jump to the defense.
These things just are bad. Its not inherently political. People and Corporations making mass-produced is the underlying cause. Its always the cause. Ironheart was bad because it was bad. Its not more complicated than that. But the culture war needs fuel to perpetuate itself, like a virus.
