Even after 25 years in this industry - whether you're a Contractor or Employee - you still participate in case studies during interviews. It's a natural part of the process. We also gave case studies when hiring for our team. In my opinion, this method is a great opportunity to see a person's perspective, coding skills, attention to detail, architectural approach, and soft skills. Even though we've entered the AI Age, some values remain unchanged: "Actions speak louder than words." Case studies are the perfect example of this. I'm in a case study process with a company I won't name. I built this task for them but will keep it on my GitHub as a reference. Although I've spent a long time in the .NET ecosystem, I also had Java knowledge from my past. What I appreciated about this company was their focus on engineering disciplines rather than technology fanaticism. They didn't hang up saying "Oh .NET? No, we're looking for Java." They asked "Would you be comfortable?" I said "Languages are just tools." And they truly are. I also used AI in this project. But I used AI as a guide: to apply disciplines I already know, instead of searching on Google, to speed up testing and development processes. In short, I accelerated my work and improved its quality. Lately, we see many posts like "If you write code with AI this way you'll fail, that way something else happens." It reminds me of those who said "This is the devil's work" when the printing press was invented. Don't resist innovation. Embrace it, examine it, improve it. How others use it doesn't concern you - what concerns you is how YOU use it. Open-mindedness becomes valuable here. While building this case, I also thought about the reviewer. We wrote scripts to make their job easier with AI - I dictated, it wrote. Then I couldn't stop: I turned Playwright-based E2E tests into a presentation with "make present" command. I’m happy to share a technical deep dive into one of the projects we implemented at Trendyol Group: Building an automated, production-ready sharded MongoDB infrastructure. As the Datastore NoSQL team, our goal was to build a robust and versatile document store that is free from vendor lock-in, fully automated, and resilient against Data Center outages. This article details our implementation using Percona Server for MongoDB, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, and a robust 3-DC topology. I’m excited to share the technical journey behind our BigDash project at Trendyol. Managing Google Cloud Run functions manually is not sustainable. We needed a smarter way to handle our serverless deployments that avoids redundant redeployments of the entire codebase. No-Limit I'm excited to share our latest project with Ahmet Oğuz Azık: "No Limit," a desktop-based study and focus tracker! This application is built entirely in Java and designed to help users to track their focus sessions, set daily goals, and visualize their consistency over time. It was a joyful exercise in building a full-stack desktop application from the ground up. Key Features: ⏱️ Time Tracking: A stopwatch panel to record work or study sessions in real-time. 💾 Database Persistence: All sessions are saved to a MySQL database using JDBC. 🎯 Daily Goal Setting: A dedicated "Settings" panel where users can set a daily focus goal (e.g., "2 hours, 30 minutes"). 📊 Detailed Daily View: The "Today" and "Examination" panels provide a detailed look at any given day, including: A table listing every study block (start, end, and duration). A dynamic progress bar showing total time vs. the daily goal. The ability to add or delete past entries. 🗓️ Calendar Tracking: A "Track" panel that provides a calendar view to review past performance and load any day's detailed statistics. Managing hundreds of Kubernetes clusters manually is a logistical nightmare - but it doesn’t have to be. ⎈ I just finished reading an incredible piece from the Hepsiburada tech team about their journey with Cluster API (CAPI), and I’m feeling truly inspired. They’ve managed to automate the lifecycle of hundreds of clusters that handle 95% of their massive traffic. The "aha!" moment for me was seeing how they combined CAPI with ArgoCD and Helm to create a fully declarative "Kubernetes Engine." By treating cluster infrastructure exactly like application code, they’ve reached a point where deploying or scaling an entire cluster is literally just one commit away. I highly suggest giving this a read. It’s a masterclass in shifting from "managing servers" to "building platforms" using the Kubernetes-native approach.
