Some neat things I've been hearing that are in the works
From ZooBeat and a look on the Toronto.ca site:
-Possible Madagascar exhibit
-Snub-nosed monkey exhibit
-Facelift for the rest of the African pavilion (including new exhibit for the Royal python, chameleon, Mandrills, Pygmy Hippo, free-flight aviary)
There's probably other stuff, too!

Old Zoo Maps
Zoo maps from recent years have been a blight on the conscience of our society. The Imperial Oil Siberian Tiger? Shoot me.
Is anyone sitting on a stash of old maps?
1994 or earlier would be, well, awesome.

Had a terrific zoo visit the other day and took tons of pics :) Got to see both Tigga's kids (one of which kept putting it's paws up against the glass) and Tatiana's as well, and the baby wild horses. The weather was perfect, couldn't've asked for a better day.

A fourth member has joined the polar bear family in Cochrane.
Bisitek, a 27-year-old female, has moved from the Toronto Zoo to the Cochrane Polar Bear Habitat and Heritage Village to retire.
Director of conservation Patricia Morin said it will likely be around two weeks before "Bisi" is ready to join Nanook, Aurora and Nakita and meet the public.
The Toronto Zoo has closed its polar bear habitat for renovations that will be finished in late 2009.
See Wednesday's edition of The Daily Press for the full story.
