I regard myself as a 'science' fan insofar as I know very little and am always entertained and amazed by every new revelation researchers trot out for we, ingnorant, hoi-poloi. I believe that we are less likely to avert eco-collapse through sensible, responsible, exploitation of the planet's resources than we are through some boffin discovering how to run the UK power grid by harnessing the energy of children at play. So I regularly peruse the news of the sciences. However, occaisionally I wish that I had not.
