Top Five

Happy Halloween, everyone! Instead of doing candy today, let's list the top five favorite Halloween costumes! These can be costumes you've worn, costumes you'd like to wear, or costumes you just think are seriously cool. If there isn't enough room in the box to give details, please share in comments. Let's spread around some Halloween love, and give ideas to everyone for next year. Feel free to post pictures in the comments, but try to keep them to a reasonable size.

Okay, Halloween is tomorrow, and along with the good always comes a little bad. What are the five worst candies or treats (doesn't have to be candy) you've received in your loot bag?



If you haven't checked the results from yesterday's Top Five, you might want to. They're very interesting, I think.

Because Halloween is coming up and the holiday is probably the holiday when candy is given most freely, the Top Five today will focus on candy. I might try to do a run of these this week, since there are so many types of candy. It all depends on how much time I find myself having each day.

For this Top Five, choose your five favorite candies from any category (chocolate, gum, hard candies, jellies or gummies, etc.).

Still in movie-land here on this Top Five... Share your Top Five favorite movie soundtracks (not just songs) from musicals that have been made into movies. Since many people used these for the last Top Fives anyhow, this one really shouldn't be all that difficult. ;)

We're stuck on movies for the moment. I really will get around to other top five lists, I promise. ;) Remember, if you have ideas for lists, let me know! For this poll, please pick your top five favorite MOVIE soundtracks. Please try to avoid movies made from musicals if possible. That's another top five for later. ;)

Hit me with your top five all-time favorite movie quotes - any movie, any quote. Feel free to look up quotes on IMDB or elsewhere if necessary.

This is just a friendly public service announcement. I know this community hasn't seen much activity in a while and we're going to work on changing that. Things are going to operate a little differently, and I'm going to set out a few requests and guidelines for you because of that.

if you're feeling creative, what are some top five orginal names for twins? (boy/boy, girl/girl, or girl/boy ?)

people at a certain top five community (that was on the spotlight), were really rude to me. so i'm hoping to find some lighthearted fun here, and no drama! :-)

1. When you tell them something like: "You have a hole in your foot!" cause they have been eating non-stop for days on end (growth spurt) and the kid inspects their foot and then looks at you and says "Where's the hole in my foot mommy?  I can't find it anywhere!"


2. When they give you their most treasured stuffed animal just because you are having a bad day, and they add a hug and a whispered "It'll be ok, I love you mommy!"


3. Knowing that I am responsible for how these little people behave and act makes me behave and act more responsibly.  Receiving  compliments on how great and well behaved my kids are, and hearing about how sweet they are, makes all my moments of doubt melt away.  It's the one thing I am confident of--my parenting skills.  I have no particular methods of doing things, and I often wonder if I am totally screwing them up, but the positive feedback assures me that I am on the right track with them.  They may act like trolls at home, but I can deal with that as long as they aren't monsters around other people. 


4. "I love you mommy.  You're the best mommy ever!"


5. Watching them find their ways in this world is fascinating, though often painful (cause I can't hold their hand through all of life's trials, and I can't protect them from every insult or hurt).  They are smart little humans, and I really have learned a lot from them and because of them. 

*I have learned to be more tolerant of things I can not stand (13 years of watching Barney, for example.  If I had not seen positive results from my kids, that damn dinosaur would've been trashed ages ago.  I wonder if my mom felt that way about Sesame Street and The Electric Company??)
