I’m Remi. I’m a grown-ass woman who loves hyperfixating on media (especially animation, frequently cartoons for children), and drawing/writing about it.

I think that treating people with conscious, intentional kindness is important. I think that stuff that harms people is bad; that the reason it’s bad is “because it harms people”; and that visceral disgust-reactions are a very bad indicator of morality.

While I have more than zero qualms with it, I think the issues with the use of AI for the creation of visual art, writing, and more, are wildly overblown in most of the spaces I spend time in.

After all these years I still think theunitofcaring is probably the best blog on the internet.

(If you think that people who make or enjoy fiction that you find viscerally nasty, and/or that would be awful if it happened in real life, are automatically evil and deserve to be punished, I will probably not feel safe around you.)

I softblock followers sometimes; preserving my Nice Time On The Computer is important to me. I’m saying this here because being on the receiving end of a softblock can be ambiguous and feel kind of crazymaking, and I’m hoping that mentioning it can help reduce that if it comes up.

I am 85% sure that in the last month or two tumblr randomly unitalicized a word in a post I made back in march on not only the original post but all reblogs. but I have absolutely not way to prove this....

it's my immense world/giant squid eyes post which has been steadily gaining notes for quite some time. I mute it for a week at a time and then when I start getting notifications again I'll sometimes go back and read through it again cause I like it.

and this bit, the last paragraph:

and also I gotta say, the imagery... the huge lurking threat betrayed only by the ambiguous glowing shape of its movements through the water, is really evocative, if spooky deep-sea games aren't already using that to make things extremely ominous then they should really startALT

I am like so certain that the word "shape" in there was italicized for months, it's what my brain expects from having read it multiple times and how my writing voice is in the post and in general. but I could just be crazy and I'll never knowwwwww!!!!!!!!

It's italicized for me. I don't know if it's because I'm using the goth rave mode on tumblr (or whatever this purple skin is called) or not, though.

interesting. it's not italicized for me even in the app. but also changing my palette on desktop doesn't seem to change the palette for inline blog view so I can't really test it.... does it just take a while to propagate or something that's an odd choice otherwise

wait nvm I’m silly it’s two different instances of the word shape. i forgot it’s in there twice and i misremembered the other one being italicized. occam’s razor i guess lol

she has this 3d-printed mini desk recreation of the bust of caligula with whom she communicates daily and in order to evade football’s suspicions she told him it was jesus and he was like Niiice jesus is actually awesomesauce ❤️ Like jesus helps you with touchdowns🏈🔥 and she was like yess exactly and then asked caligula in perfect latin if he could connect her with the ghost of genghis khan so they can talk strategy

This is easily one of the CRAZIEST videos I've ever gotten. I was rafting down a river when a Yellow Jacket came, landed on my bright pink waterproof phone pouch, and started drinking from the water droplets that had gathered there.

The most amazing part is how the water droplet magnifies the Hornet's mouth parts, so you get to see them up-close!!!! It was FASCINATING to witness!
