While I was on a break from creating,
I recently discovered that my mesh had been used without permission and redistributed.
I also confirmed that this mesh had been distributed for quite some time.
I contacted the user and told them that I was willing to allow the use,
on the condition that proper credit (tagging the source) be clearly added to every post where the mesh was used.
I then waited for their feedback.
However, I did not receive a response right away.
When I was finally able to get in touch, the only explanation I was given was:
“I extracted it from The Sims 4 and didn’t know that distributing it this way was not allowed.”
At this point, the post in question has been deleted.
Stealing another person’s mesh or using another creator’s work without permission is never acceptable.
While there may be limited cases where personal reference or research use is tolerated,
posting someone else’s work as if it were your own, or redistributing it, is a clear violation.
This cannot be justified under any circumstances.
Not knowing does not remove responsibility.
The moment someone decides to distribute what does not belong to them,
the wrongdoing has already begun.
I sincerely hope this does not happen again.
Please—do not steal.
