So this mini-arc is not, as such, good, even by the standards of the whole constellation of House Of M media, but Erik shows up in Charles’ house to beg him for help with The Wanda Situation and they are never going to beat the divorced couple allegations in any universe.

After suffering from polio in 1934, Ida Lupino had persistent issues for the rest of her life with her right hand and leg and the hearing in her right ear. In 1950 at the height of the polio epidemic in America, she directed, wrote, and produced the film "Never Fear" about a young dancer who is crippled by polio. The film had a pseudo-documentary style, featuring the first wheelchair dance with dancers from Kabat-Kaiser, real life patients at a rehabilitation centre, and Ida's own doctor.
During filming, Ida broke her ankle and directed the movie while in a wheelchair herself (pictured below):

I understand the urge to comment on recent trends in which people seem to want increasingly sanitized media compared to the recent past, but when you say things like "people used to just shrug and move on when there were books and movies that made them uncomfortable" it's like...well. actually people used to convict artists of obscenity in a court of law.
