5-minute looks (x-posted to mac_cosmetics)

So I decided that my New Year's resolution is to de-frump. I have an extensive M.A.C. (and some other brands too) makeup collection and can do all kinds of looks when I go out. However, when I'm rushing out the door to get to work, I often end up skipping makeup completely. I'd like to have a look on hand (or more than one) for when I only have five minutes. I have naturally rosy cheeks and good skin so base and blush aren't necessary. I'm about NC25, brown hair, brown eyes. here is a pic of me with no makeup on.

At the moment, I am thinking:
-NARS All About Eve duo, satin side as a wash, shimmery side to highlight. I like this because it's virtually foolproof and doesn't require any base like paints underneath.
-MAC bountiful brown powerpoint
-Clinique naturally glossy mascara. Not a whole lot of drama but it's the most low-maintenance clump-free formula I've used.
-MAC Hug Me lipstick
-If I'm looking shiny, a little studio fix applied with my #187.

Any other thoughts?

Cheap makeup tips...

For anyone who loves the look and texture of MAC Lipglasses but (like me; I'm in college) can't afford to get many of them, Sally Hansen's 18 Hour Lip Treatment is a great stand-in, plus it's got vitamin-y goodness and a mild citrus scent/taste. I think I paid $5.99 for mine and it comes in different colors.

A good mixing medium for eyeshadows, and to use eyeshadows as water-resistant eyeliner, mix three parts water to one part glycerine (available at Walgreens-type places) and use a tiny amount in shadows/pigments. I read about this on another community so don't credit me for this one.

Due to the tremendously hot and humid weather, all I wear on my face to work is sunscreen/moisturizer. I've been using Purpose redness reducing moisturizer with spf 30, which I love unless I'm at work. I have to constantly reapply sunscreen all day, something I'm not really able to take the time to do.

With that, what is your favorite waterproof and sweatproof sunscreen/moisturizer. Preferably that won't make me smell like sunscreen.

Hello ladies!
Since it's now summer, or atleast it is for me, it's now time for swimming alot!
which means...

CHLORINE BUILD-UP! booo hiss

Tips:
-To remove chlorine build-up at home, leave shampoo on for 5-10 minutes. This deep cleans the hair. I leave it while I shave my legs in the shower, kinda like how I do conditioner.

-To help prevent chlorine-nastiness in the first place, put conditioner on your hair before swimming. It creates a protective barrier or whatever and blocks out chlorine. However, if you swim competitively, or just with a swim cap, this makes the cap slip off, which is hella annoying. soo....

-another preventative strategy is to rinse hair with clean (non-chlorine/chemical-ed) water directly after swimming, as in as soon as you get out of the water. The more you let it dry, the more chlorine and other chemicals stick in your hair.

Also, don't use pool shampoo!!!! It dries out your hair something awful, and if you use the first tip, regular shampoo works just as good or better.

cream bases

i need some of your guys opinions.

what do u think or how do you feel about cream bases under your eyeshadow?

is it a must, does it not make a big difference to you, or hell no?

i have my personal opinion on it that i think it just makes my eyeshadow not last as long and "crease" up on me.

however i just want to know if i just experience that problem.
