Criminal Minds

Currently obsessed with this show. I found the cases to be quite interesting and disturbing at the same time. (Well, anything related to criminology is disturbing; but that's my intersting!) I didn't have an impression on it at first. But after watching one of the episodes, I got hooked into it!

The relationships (or chemistries) between each member in the BAU team are so good. They complement each other pretty well. Each member has their own story, where some of the episodes usually focused on one of the members. The cases did reflected some of the real issues we are facing today, so it's definitely interesting to watch (while it can be disturbing.)

I must say that I like it more than CSI: Miami now. And I was able to make my bro watched this one. He's not interested in CSI, but he's okay with CM. So it must be good, eh? 8D

Writer's Block: Back to the future

If you were 12 and could see yourself now, do you think you'd be happy or disappointed, and why?

Happy. After all, at the age 12, I was still confused of what to do or even to be. Right now, I actually study something I have chosen to do, not because my parents made me do it. Many things that happened along the way were good thing. There're some memories that could have been better if I tried to give it more thoughts. But all in all, I would be content with what I am right now: studying university, having my family with me, meeting nice people and enjoying the life.

Back to studying!

AVATAR

I watched it on Tuesday. The 3-D effects were pretty cool.

The storyline is kinda interesting, and quite a good reflection on human behaviours.

The CGI is really nice!

Overall, it's awesome. Go watch it 8D

The Sequel

It's been awhile since I last updated my LJ (^^;  I have been too busy with school (plus lazy) and pretty much ignore updating my journal. Finally got to watch Heart of Greed's sequel Moonlight Resonance. Now, the buisness is related to moon cakes (though I must say that the shop did more than just moon cakes.) The storyline in this one is more intense, in a sense that the main family is divided because of the divorce. Jo bao went with the mushroom lady and took 3 sons with him, while Hor ma got 1 son and 2 daughters. Jo bao and Hor ma have 4 sons and 2 daughters: Ka (家), Ho (好), Yuet (月), Yuen (圓), Hing (慶), and Chung (中).
  • Ah Ka is the oldest of the family; he was taken into the father side because Hor ma asked him to look after the other two brothers for her.
  • Ah Ho, the second son, is with his mother. He helped looking after the shop and wasn't able to study university. Family is his priority, which made him break-up with his girlfriend who cannot stand being put the second all the time.
  • Ah Yuet is an adopted daughter of Hor ma, but everyone treats her as part of the family. She loves the family and will do anything to help them. She's quite straight-forward, and it usually brings her trouble.
  • Ah Yuen, the third son, is with his father. He became a spoil child and was controlled by the evil stepmother. He used to believe that he was the cause of his stepmother's miscarriage, so he listened to whatever order she gave him.
  • Ah Hing is the second youngest. She cannot talk, but can listen. She communicated with other through sign languages.
  • Ah Chung is the yougest son and is with his father. He was sent to England to study but he eventually returned to Hong Kong and lived with Hor ma.
Collapse )

Overall, the series is enjoyable and quite captivating. It's quite "loud" with all the quarreling between the characters. The tension is build since the first episode, a bit different from Heart of Greed, that evolves from a happy family to a not-so-happy one. This one, we see the transformation of Jo bao and grandma, who seems like bad characters but they really aren't. So watch it if you like the first one, or even if you never watch the first one :P

Writer's Block: Old friends

Have you ever reconnected with long-lost friends over the Internet? Overall, have the relationships you've rekindled been more meaningful or superficial? Are there any people you wish you hadn't run into again online?

Yep, I have XD Thanks to the internet (and social network sites), now I'm still able to contact many of my friends in Thailand. Since back then, I kept in touch with my primary school friend through msn messenger (instead of calling each other, lol.) Sometimes, the relationship seems better I would say. It also depends on the personality of the other person. Some people are better when they are face to face, while some are more open when they went behind the screen. But as long as we aren't getting on each others' nerves, it is okay.

I do wished to run into some of my primary school friends, since I spent 6 years of my life in that primary school. Six years are more than half of my time that was spent living in Thailand. And I would say that during those years, I saw many types of people and learnt a lot about people. It may sounds funny... since it's only primary school ages I'm talking about. But everything starts from that stage!

Writer's Block: The truth is out there ...

If someone discusses UFOs at a party, do you assume they're a visionary or bonkers? Do you consider yourself a believer or a skeptic?
My brother always talks about UFO... so I'm used to it. I don't really believe it. But then again, it doesn't hurt to be a bit skeptical about things. I don't really blindly believe things. Like, even for religion, I may study in Catholic schools for few years but I wasn't converted at all. Though it doesn't mean I'm a firm-Buddhist either. I guess sometimes there's such higher being like God, when someone is facing hard time.

Now, visionary or bonkers? Visionary would make them sounds very clever. But I won't say they're bonkers. I mean it's not wrong for them to believe in such thing. (Especially with all those "evidences" flying around to support such claim.) Let's just say, different people have different views.

Writer's Block: Top of the Charts

What's the most-played song in your music library?
Saw it at finalay and want to do this one~

My most-played song is SMAP - そのまま.
You can click the song to listen it on imeem.

This is one of my favourite songs. It's an ending song for Goro-chan's drama (that I didn't watch because I can't find any subs and he played with Koyuki.) The meaning is quite nice; and I actually can sing along as I memorized the whole lyric XD

After all, the most-played songs right now are SMAP's. (It used to be Tamaki Hiroshi, btw.)
Nodame & Chiaki

Writer's Block: Pecking Order

Are you an oldest, youngest, middle, or only child? How do you think it has influenced your personality?
I'm the oldest, which posed me great responsibility since a child XD;; But I actually don't mind it after thinking back. I used to think why I have to do household chores and such and such. But as time passes, you start to learn that somehow you have to contribute back to your family. I really think that if people can't properly help the one closest to them, their family, it's a bit skeptical for them to help others. (Well, that could be my weird way of thinking! >_>)

As the older sibling, it always give me the impression of being a good role model (at least, it doesn't need to be perfect). And so I tend to be more "bossy" around my younger brother, which you probably can say I turn into another person when I'm with him. lol.

Writer's Block: Memo to Myself

If you could travel back in time, what advice would you give to your younger self?
I would probaby tell myself to enjoy the time, no matter how bad or silly it seems. Afterall, the experience I have in the past was really great! At the time I don't realize it. But every time I think back, it was a good memory. I can't believe I did something silly like that. Compare to the present, my life as a young kid was quite lively and fun. I'm glad to know all those people. So, enjoy the time and do your best. =D

You are:

  • moderately expressed judging personality

Description Page: In general, it is pretty correct. I would say that I'm quite traditional, but I'm also open to new way if it fitted the situation. I guess in a way, I'm a Protector (what a coincident, my first name also means that). Maybe because of how I was raised and because I'm the older child, I tend to be more protective and assume more responsibility. The article also talks about money, which is true in a sense. (Sometimes, I spent too much time thinking over and over whether to buy something, lol.)

ISFJ Profile: "ISFJs make pleasant and reliable co-workers and exemplary employees, but tend to be harried and uncomfortable in supervisory roles" -- So true!!

"... the older the friendship is, the more an ISFJ will value it" -- very true!

the jobs that suit ISFJ --- there's actually computer programmer in there OvO (though I probably won't actually be one... who knows, lol)
