important-please read to protect your LJ(s) personal and comms

The russian bots are not only hacking into and taking over and destroying personal LJs and comms, it looks like it's being done by a virus.
Read the above posts for more info.
My suggestions, that I have read elsewhere and am just passing on, are the following:
1) go to Manage Accounts/My Accounts. You should be on the Account tab, the first one.
Scroll down and answer the Secret Question stat! Make sure that your answer and question cannot be easily guessed. This is to protect you from someone, like a bot, getting to your account via your email address that you used to set up your LJ, requesting a password change, and then getting it and locking you out of your LJ, deleting posts and comments, and if that's not bad enough, when friends come to visit your LJ, the only post will be a post that will contain a virus which will cause the bot and virus to spread to their LJs as well.
2) don't friend anyone back that you don't know. You could check their LJ, but if it's a russian bot, this could be dangerous. The profile page should indicate that it is a russian bot. You can see that there are hardly any posts. The username should look somewhat strange. Some wording may be in the Russian alphabet.
Don't click on any of their links--that is the virus at work.
3) make your LJ(s) friends-only and take them out of the search engines.
This hacking bot virus has already destroyed many personal LJs and comms. The shoebox project comm, home of the wonderful HP novel fic about the Marauders, is destroyed. Zarah, a great LOTR RP fic writer, lost her personal LJ. The autumn addicts comm is destroyed. Note that I am not linking to these, for fear that anyone might go there. :(
I've asked about this in the news comm.
I sent a report into the support board.
The silence from LJ, Inc. on this situation is frightening. They could at the very least put a post in the news comm about this problem.
I've read about this in several places. Those of you who are Doctor Who fans can read about it at
who_daily at the top of the post for March 6, 2009.
Please my friends protect your LJs.
Good night and good luck, as the late great Edward R. Murrow would say.
