Join us in standing up for reproductive health and education. Planned Parenthood, the organization that delivers reproductive health care, sex education and information to millions of people worldwide, has come under fire in the U.S. lately, with many politicians on both state and federal level seeking to end funding (and in a few cases succeeding).

During the month of May, you can send a specially designed Planned Parenthood vgift to your friends to help support this cause. (And if you need someone to send it to, frank is always happy to receive gifts!) There are three variations ($1, $5 and $10) for you to choose from, but they'd all look good on your profile when your friends know that you stand by something so important.

And if you do not feel like taking a total break and perhaps want just a trial separation or couple's counseling, then perhaps consider Black March Lite 2.0 = spend, but spend money on those content creators and independent retailers who came out against SOPA/PIPA.  And tell them why you're buying their products in March.  There are many of them.

With the continuing campaigns for internet-censoring litigation such as SOPA and PIPA, and the closure of sites like Megaupload under allegations of 'piracy' and 'conspiracy' the time has come to take a stand against music, film, and media companies' lobbyists.
The only way is to hit them where it hurts.
Their profit margins.
March 2012 is the end of the First Quarter in economic reports world wide.
Do not buy a single record. Do not download a single song, legally or illegally. Do not go to see a single film in cinemas, or download a copy. Do not buy a DVD in the stores. Do not buy a videogame. Do not buy a single book or magazine.
Wait the four weeks to buy them in April: see a film later, etc... Holding out for just four weeks, maximum, will leave a gaping hole in media companies profits for the first quarter, an economic hit which will in turn be observed by governments world wide as stocks and shares will blip from a large enough loss of incomes. This action will give a statement of intent:
"We will not tolerate the Media Industries' lobbying for legislation that will censor the internet."

Title: Kissing Business
Rating: R, sexual situations. Mostly implied, but still slash, threesome and het.
Pairings: Robin/Marian, Robin/Carter/Much, Guy/Marian
Words: 555
Genre: Drama
Summary: Takes place between 2x08 Get Carter and 2x09 Lardner's Ring.
A/N: this was written for a hoodland challenge last round, the point was to write a missing scene or, in this case, a missing part... ;-) The challenge allowed 300 words and the posted fic, after several edits, were 249 words. This, however, was the original draft of 555 words. It's hardly a secret that I'm a Guy/Marian shipper above else, just a fair warning. But I also ship Robin/Much and Robin/Carter warmly. Just my personal preferences. :-)

TRANSTRÖMER!!!

Nobel Prize in literature to Swedish poet Tomas Tranströmer!! Not only am I excite because he's a Swede, there have been many years of hope for his sake... ÄNTLIGEN!!! ( <-- finally in Swedish. A word often used when Nobel prizes are announced.) New York Times on Tranströmer.

Announced by the Swedish Academy at 13:00 sharp (1 pm, always) by secretary Peter Englund (historian and writer).


It's more than joy when a Swede gets any kind of Nobel Prize. There is always the fear of being accused of improper advantage. So it is a double joy. :-)

But the day started sadly with the news of Steve Job's death. I took five minutes of my computing lesson today explaining to pupils why Jobs was important for us all.

As Tranströmer said:
In the middle of life it happens that death comes and measures man.
The visit is forgotten and life continues. But the suit is made, quietly.
