Artemis III

We’ve seen your posts and your reactions to the Artemis III announcement. Here’s some insight from NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman to add context to the discussion.
A rectangular graphic with a purple-to-pink gradient background displays a large white headline at the top that reads: “Why are there no women assigned to Artemis III?” Below the headline is a white text box containing a long statement. The statement discusses reactions to the Artemis III crew selection, noting prior missions with crews that included women, the high percentage of women in NASA leadership, the integrity of the astronaut selection process, and the factors considered when assigning crews, such as experience and training pipelines. It emphasizes that crew selection is not political, that astronauts are chosen to best meet mission objectives, and that upcoming missions will also include highly qualified astronauts. The statement is signed at the bottom and attributed to NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman.

Introducing our Artemis III astronauts: Luca Parmitano, Randy Bresnik, Andre Douglas, and Frank Rubio.
Artemis III astronauts wearing bright orange space suits are seated and standing closely together in a studio setting with a plain white background. They are positioned in two rows, with two seated on stools in front and two standing behind them. They have their arms around one another in a unified, team‑style pose.

In 2027, the Artemis III mission will practice docking the Orion spacecraft with two lunar landers in low Earth orbit. On future Artemis missions, landers will bring astronauts to the lunar surface. While Artemis III will not land on the Moon, it will test the complex capabilities we need to return humanity there — this time to stay.

If you could ask the Artemis III astronauts any question, what would you ask them?
